Non hooking hybrids.

About the last year and a half I’ve been working on my swing hard. Long story short I was bringing the club back too far inside then I would get stuck at the top and make an over the top move. Back then I just pretty much just played a fade, my driver was shaky but I could hit my hybrid great. Last year after making my swing changes I started hooking my hybrid pretty bad. I switched to a nickent 18.5* this year and I have never hooked a club as bad as this. I feel like I have to change my swing to hit it straight, I’m driving the ball great and hitting my irons pretty good but I have no confidence in the hybrid right now.

Is there any good hybrids out there that aren’t hook machines or should I start looking at maybe getting a 5 wood to replace the hybrid.

Look at the Cobra Baffler Pro. No offset and the face is neutral. It's a great club. I love mine....

I don't and have never hooked my Nickets. Straight as an arrow. And I don't hit a fade or a draw with my other clubs. ????

I changed my swing last year and started slicing the heck out of my driver, it wasn't the club...

Ben Hogan CFT Ti hybrid, picked one up off ebay from a very reputable seller brand new for $65. NO offset and square face-what more could you want?

The Nickent's are pretty forgiving and as a result not very workable. Good for straight shots but trying to bend a 10yd. fade out around the treeline is not as easy. Basically something more player geared would be less hook-prone and more workable. Maybe a Rescue Dual TP with the weights set up more in the toe? In my limited experience I've found all hybrids to lack workability, no where near what you can do with a 3 or 4 iron but definitely easier to hit higher and straighter. If you are actually hooking, not pulling, like a huge push-draw, that's in the swing. A long iron would and should move 3 times as much R to L hit the same.

I love my Nickent, because I'm usually thinking to "just get it there" when I pull it out of the bag. But if you are after an anti-hook that is gorgeous, sounds incredible, and performs try the Titleist 585H.

After seeing your thumb in the other post, I'd also say the lighter weight and graphite shafts may be causing you to shut a hybrid down quicker with an agressively tight grip. I only play a D2 in the irons so not too big a transition to a hybrid. I'd imagine some of the ones out there with the 60-65g shafts much be coming in around D1 or D0, tough transition if you are swinging a D4 iron and driver.
