Low spin or high spin shaft

I've been noticing some shafts are rated as high spin, some medium/high spin and some low spin. What characteristics of a shaft determine this? Seems like it would be more in the club head design but???

I was watching the golf channel today and Nick Price said he played a heavier shaft because he thinks lighter shafts spin the ball too much.

Maybe that's it. It has to do with weight.

To reduce spin you can do the following:

1. Stiffer tip shaft reduces spin
2. Stiffer flex shaft also reduces spin
3. Finally of course what was mentioned above. Heavier shaft reduces spin.
