X20s?

My dad is talking about picking me up a set of X20 irons from Callaway. Were going to go swing some this weekend so I will make the final decision there but what do you guys think is the best out of these choices?
Callaway X20
Callaway Fusions
Nike Slingshot
Nike Pro Combo
Cobra 3100

These are all in the price range. Anything else you can suggest?

Nope, they are the replacements for the X18 irons, cavity back all the way around the head. The X 20 Tour irons don't have a bore through shaft though, but still have a full cavity.

Pro combo, never had a problem only thing is you might lose a club but you will be closer to center than ever before!

I love the look of the cobra forged cb irons, but I don't think i'm good enough to play them

you're really all over the board with these choices - slingshots are alot different than pro combos aren't they?

Like I said I dont know what i'm going to like yet so these were just models thrown out there that I am thinking of trying and are a reasonable price.

Of those irons, I'd say go with the Pro Combo's.

i have x-18`s that i like but i would go with the pro version if i had it to do over again.if the x-20`s come in a pro version i`m not sure.i have a tendency to pull the x-18`s on occasion because they have a slightly closed face.or atleast they look alittle closed to me.

I'd go with the X20 if they come standard with Project X shafts. If not, the ProCombo.

There's about a $600 gap between them now, since the 3100s are now an old model that's been replaced with the Cobra FPs.

that's what I thought - $600 is a whole other set to me

for the price of the fusions, I'd go with a completely custom fitted set of forged irons

I know the two are completely opposite the X20s are a players iron and the Slingshot are game improvement irons. But here is the decision. With the slingshot I was more consistent but I could only do one thing high and straight. With the X20s I was less consistent but could do anything I wanted. So what do you guys think is better, consistency or workability?

I hit long irons pretty well though I guess im an anomilie so I was thinking just X20s 3-PW which I can get new for $600 shipped.

It’s all about a personal preference. Its nice to have a set of irons you can work but making solid contact is more important. If you a sophomore in high school and your playing in the low eighties you might be happy with getting a game improvement set of irons for a year or two but when you get better the ho in you will start looking for more of a players set of irons. If the X20’s are like my buddies X16’s they are a game improvement set of irons with a deep cavity back and a big progressive offset and a chunky looking club at address. I went with the LT2’s they are a cavity back with a small progressive offset and a more traditional looking club at address . They have a big sweet spot and just as forgiving as my old Cleveland TA7’s on slightly off center hits, and they are easier to work left and right and I can control the trajectory a lot better than my old TA7’s, which are a lot like the Callaway’s.
