Bridgestone J33 Hybrid VS Nickent 3DXDC

I’m heading out to the range in a bit and going to give the Bridgestone J33 18* a go. I will have a review when I get back hopefully it won’t be a hook machine like the Nickent.

You shouldn't hook it. This is the only club in my bag that I can pretty much consitently hit little fades with. It's a great club.

I love my Nickent..........what shaft did you have in yours? Oh, I just saw it in your signature. What shaft is in the Bridgestone?

Just got back from the range after warming up with my wedge and hitting a few drives I went straight the J33. I hit the first 2 or three shots a little thin and hit some screaming 200 yard worm burners and almost started freaking out. I stepped back went through my preshot routine and moved the ball back in my stance a hair and started making very good contact. The stuff I read about this thing not being a hook machine is correct. I was taking my normal swing and this thing was going straight or with a 10yrd draw. After about 10-15 balls down the pipe I started to try and work it both ways, but this club pretty much wants to go just straight. I could get it to fade slightly maybe 10-15yrds or so and to get this club to hook, I really had to close my stance and exaggerate a quick shoulder turn through contact. I noticed when I was trying to hit fades the ball was landing about 230-235 and my draws were landing about 10-15 yards further I think that might come in handy. I gave the Nickent a good shot to stay in the bag but for what ever reason I couldn’t hit it straight consistently, it felt like I had to hit a cut to get it to go straight. I’m not saying the Nickent is a bad club but it’s not the right fit for me. Sorry WBL.

Over the past two weeks I've been slowly going through hybrids, in a round-robin style tourney for supremacy and for the right to be piurchased by me. The early favorites were Nickent, Cobra Baffler and Big Bertha... Just anbout 3 days ago it was down to the Bridgestone, Nickent and Cobra...

The Baffler, imo, was the best club but, followed closely by the Nickent and the Bridgestone right behind it.

Really I'd take any of them but for the price I couldn't buy anything but the Nickent. The Baffler was the best hybrid I could find but the price was prohibitive. Oh and the Mactec was pretty sweet as well.

I really liked the Bridgestone though, nice club. You'll dig it.

You can find the Bafflers (especially with the sweet Nippon steel shaft) for under $100 now that the new DWS model has come out.
