Geek DCT 12* shaft help

I just bought a DCT 12* head and need some help finding the best shaft. I am a lowball hitter with a 90-93 MPH SS with a smooth tempo. My natural ballflight is a slight fade. I had a TM burner, but hated the closed clubface. I hit it pretty good, but looking at the face drove me nuts. Any and all advice will be appreciated. Thanks

Grafalloy ProLaunch. I'm not sure whether the DCT is bore-through or not, but if it is a regular flex would suffice. (The best way to find the right shaft is demo, demo, demo, but this might point you in a generall direction.)

The hottest shaft going (especially in the DCT) is the Aldila VS Proto, although not cheap. I've got a 9º DCT coming with a VS Proto stiff. According to LyleG this is the hottest combo out. R35 just put in a Graman UL780 stiff in his DCT and it's another good shaft. He's pounding them out there with it. You'd want a regular flex in either of these. These mid-launch shafts are both over $100. bames has a good suggestion for a high launch shaft in the ProLaunch 65.

I've heard good things about the VS Proto also, but I think I need a higher launch. What about the NVS ? Is that a high launch shaft ?

It's mid launch. Not as high as the PL. However, that 12* face will help you get the ball up moreso than relying on a shaft to do it.

Another shaft to try is the UL540 from Graman in regular flex. They are superb shafts. The UL780 that was recommended is very solid, so I would stay away from that (for now). But the 540 is a lighter version, mid launch and very stable.

I've played three different clubs with the ProLaunch and currently have 3 clubs with the NVS. If you are really after a high launching shaft then the ProLaunch will better suit you (compared to the NVS). It is a good shaft and I liked it well enough, however, I have changed my swing some and have really grown to like the feel of the NVS. All of the aforementioned shafts (from WBL, and R35) are great shafts, but I only have experience with the ProLaunch and the NVS. There is certainly some difference in the ball flight but I noticed the most difference in the feel of the tip portion of the shaft.

I had the UL440 in a Launcher and found it really whippy. Is the UL540 a little stiffer to flex or lower torque ?

Yes. It's 2.5 vs 3.5 in the 440, and weighs 10 grams more. That will make it more stable.

Guys using both the 540 and the 780 are raving about both in the DCT. They're matches made in heaven.

my buddy hits the dct with the 540 and he has about the same ss as you and he absolutely loves it.

I've had both a Limey 540 and a Pl in a Geek failsafe driver. I got a higher ballflight with the 540 if thats any help. Theyre close enough though that I'd recommend whichever you could get cheapest.

And the NVS is a great shaft. It's "mid-high" launch according to what every reference says.... Great shaft.

Thanks everyone for the help. I have to search Fleabay and see what I can find. A review will follow in a few weeks. Thanks again.
