got the irons...now new shoes?

I just got my set of mp-32's, and ran to a 9-hole course just down the road to play them for the first time...I broke par for the first time in my life! Unbelievable irons. Now I need to replace my old shoes. It's been so long since I've been in the market for a pair of golf shoes...I want to stick with more traditional looking shoes, but I want extreme comfort. Can anyone recommend some good pairs to look at? Thanks

I'm a diehard Nike Gore Tex guy. They fit my feet well and are super comfortable. Shoes are a very personal thing, your best bet is to go out and try everything that you can.

Here's a few that get rave reviews around these parts:

Footjoy
Bite
Addidas
Nike

But wear what feels best and offers the best stability. Your feet and game will thank you!

In other words, Rock is of no help because he's saying "all the brands are good, try them out!"...which is basically true, but whatever, hah.

Personally, I became a big FJ fan this xmas when I got my first pair, so you may wanna try one of theirs that suits your eye. I think the DJ Premieres or whatever they're called are supposed to be pretty spanky. My girl cheaped out on me and only spent $100 (Cdn) on my AWDs, but they're f'in stellar. (jk, I hope she never reads this, they're awesome and she's not cheap and bought me lots of awesome golf stuff for xmas, including the Hole-in-One trophy case)

Anyhow, yeah, FJ.

I try and help a guy out, and I get this in return?

I'm telling the GF you think she's cheap. Then i'll take her out to dinner. Then she'll buy me some FJ Elites.

Then you can answer the question "who's your daddy?".

Kidding S.

Everyone's feet are different. I like FJ stuff, I just fit Nike's better. Adidas makes some stellar stuff. Bite has been a big favorite as of late by lots of guys. I like the look of both Callaway shoes and Oakley, but they have a hefty price tag (most of the time).

Nike SP-5's in white with black stripe. Look great and are very comfortable. Definitely check them out.

Shoes are a big issue with me. Golf shoes, dress shoes any kind of shoes because I have bad heels.

I strongly recommend the FJ Contour series. They have a fairly traditional look, have a higher back heel and much more padding around the top opening. Hence the name Contour.

I have one pair with 40 rounds on them - about half of them walking/carrying on a hilly course. And with my xtra fat gut, there's even more stress on them.

I have replaced the Black Widow spikes and the uppers look like I'll get another 25 rounds out of them. I bought two more pair this Winter from a company in Gainsville FL called Golfequipmentcloseouts.com. I paid $65 a pair for these and love them.

Recommended from a fat guy who walks/carries a lot with bad feet...

bravo

I just bought the Nike SP5's in all brown, so far so good, real comfortable and a nice cross between a sneaker/traditional style show..

Don't get Footjoy e-comforts...they suck. Bad. I had to put insoles in them, and they're still uncomfortable.
