Worst range session ever....ugh...

Yesterday could single handedly be the worst session I've had swinging the clubs. I felt like a rusty gate. Driver was awful (more on that), irons were thin all day. I hit my wedges pretty solid, but even my bread and butter FW's were dog feces.

I hit 250 balls (mostly wedges), as the weather was great. I hit the DCT a few times and then started hitting straight pushes. I couldn't figure out what. Well, it seems I came close to pulling an Ez, as the bond on the epoxy was broken and the head started to turn. That was the end of that driver for the day. Probably good riddance.

Then I hit the putting green. I had been toying with the idea of adding some lead tape to the "wings" of my branding iron ITRAX, and it paid off bigtime. My lagging is much more controlled and short putts seem automatic. That was the best putting practice I've had in a while.

Funny game, this is. One part goes to hell while the other excels. I can't wait until both get on the same page.

It coulda been. I would have never known. Looking 120 blocked right shots gets old in a hurry. :(

I'll be back on the horse soon enough. This week is a write off, so maybe that's a blessing in disguise.

Funny how that is. Today I was hitting my irons pretty good, putting like a pro, but my driver sucked. For some reason I was uncomfortable over some 3/4 wedge shots and I was almost scared to hit the ball. Sure enough on #9 when I was -1 I Shanked a 3/4 56º into a bunker on number 7. I was in a foot print too. Nice double. Guess what I did on #10?..yeah..I dont wanna talk about that one.:(

Driver 260 down the pipe and had a 3/4 8 iron to the green. These 3/4 shots seem to be giving me trouble. So I doubled there to. 2 shanks in 2 holes. I should quit golf..Still ended +3 for the day though. So I got that going for me.

The day everyting falls into place is going to be an enjoyable afternoon.

Sorry to "steal your thunder" 35 but I thought I'd mention my experiances from the day.

Oh and I played with this guy from New Brunswick. Guess how many times his cell phone rang?...how's 2 times in the first 4 holes. :hunter: I knew it was going to be fun when it rang on the first tee.

I played in 60kmh winds yesterday and hit a drive 390 yards and had 111 in on a par 5. I skulled it about 40 yard past the green, chunked the next into a bunker, hit on and 3 putted for a double.

Dude, 250 balls?! How freakin' long were you out there? Ever since I started doing my preshot routine before EVERY shot a 60 ball bucket takes me over an hour. To hit 250 balls would take a week!

As for the second part there, be careful what you ask for as there are two ways to go...

I've had my share of abysmal range sessions, the key is to try and forget about it and start fresh next time. If you dwell on the bad day, it gets in your head and you can end up like Ian Baker-Finch. He can shoot in the 60's unless it's a tournament round and then he can't break 80.
