Putter Fitting

Dick's is now doing Putter Fitting. They had the loft/lie machine out there when I went in. The guy at the location I go to is a part time retired guy, played professionally on several mini-tours and a PGA certified clubmaker. I'll be going down one evening next week to get this baby all dialed in to my specs. I have a feeling it will need to bent upright a considerable amount. Maybe delofted a little too.

While I'm doing that I'm going to inquire about my irons. I've been considering having them all delofted 1* and 1.5 on the 5 and 6. They are already 1" long. The idea is to tighten up the gap to the hybrid and a little more to the GW. May as well get fitted for lie angles on them too.

Are you telling us that you've been playing those Miuras all this time and you never had the fitted to you?! Dude, you're killing me! I'm taking my PCTs in for the second time next week. I had them checked once already but want to get them checked again since I put new shafts in there.

I am "supposed" to play 1-2* flat but I prefer to play standard L/L/L

Hmmm... I don't know. The Circa 62' #3 is just stuck on my brain bad. The red paintfill and headcover look so awesome. I tried one in the shop twice and it's a supersmooth stick.

Ez, did you have any luck at Dick's?

I called them this morning around 10am to confirm they could pull the shaft from my fairway wood - when I got there at 2, they told me they couldn't because they were too busy and couldn't afford to take someone off the floor to go in the back to pull the shaft

I asked when they could and was told "Friday" - I don't understand how the golf dept can be that busy for 5 days, but oh well, I'll go to a competent club builder next time - oh well, it was too good to be true

I think what you're going to find is that one Dick's will be totally different from another in this regard.

I didn't do anything yet. The guy comes in at night, about 5-9. I go to the one in Seekonk MA on Rt. 6. They may not have had anyone there who was qualified to do it. They obviously don't pay crap so it's probably a guy moonlighting a few days a week, comes in and just does everything that's waiting. On demand is hard to get anywhere.

I agree. It's going to be very dependant on what the club guy's schedule is. I hope to use my charisma, combined with finding out his schedule, to be able to just walk in and have him do whatever on the spot.
