Burner

My boss and I snuck out for a round at that easier course I played last week. He literally peeled the celophane off the Burner on the 1st tee. He started off blocking it right at first but got it straightened out by the 3rd or 4th driver hole.

The guy at the shop recommended he go up to a stiff flex and down to a 9.5* from his soft R flex (Mas2 high launcher) in an R5typeD. Very good advice. I used to pound my driver by him and easily outdrive him with my 3W. No more, no way. He is at most 8-10yds. behind me now and hitting this thing with so much hangtime I could hit my tee shot after his and mine would land first.

I hit it once and totally missed on the heel side. (possibly the shaft being about 1 1/2 inches longer than mine?) still, still this thing went well over 230 yds. of carry.... and stayed in the fairway on total slice strike.

This thing reminds me of another club... Hibore. Except add like 5% to 8% distance to it.

I'm very impressed by this club and guys looking for a forgiving driver with more distance should take note. My boss shot even par for 8 holes before making a double on the 18th for the back side. He was in the fairway on better than half his drives and the ones that weren't were still bombed and no more than 5yds. off the fairway.

Are you going to steal one from the shop that guy with the red 2007 Corvette owns? You already took some money out of his pocket. Why not take a little bit more?

cas im sure your some perfectly ethical guy yourself...

honestly, at least EZ had the balls to say what he did, and at least felt somewhat guilty since he posted it.
this is completely irrelevent to the thread topic, so honestly, if you want to be a jerk and rant at least keep it in PM's or another thread, and don't jack his thread.

I take it that was the standard Burner and not the tour? And does that loft launch the ball similar to most 9.5º heads or higher? I played with a older guy that had a new one and thought he was God's gift to golf, nose in the air, put off questions I asked. Then I drove the 9th hole green (almost) while he hooked his Burner into the woods. He did hit a couple nice ones though but hit a few low, nasty duck hooks with it.

It's just the regular Burner, not the TP. It sets up pretty closed but that's a help for most guys, me included. He lauches it high and the one shot I hit was high. I'd have to say it would play like a 10.5* Superquad if I had to guess. The carry was amazing though. The thing stayed in the air forever. He's easily got 10yds. on his old combo.

I can't believe it. My boss is a madman. He brought the Burner back and got a D2 for a demo... brought that back before I hit it and had a HiboreXL 9.5* gold shaft and a Ping Crapture 9* stock stiff.

IMO he hit the Burner much better and longer than either one. I went through and hit them along with his original R5 D with the MAS2 high launch R flex.

The XL still sucked, no different from last time except much higher than the red shaft. My 5w off the tee is longer. All bark and no bite.... It's loud.

The Rapture was much better than the XL. Seems pretty forgiving and much higher than any TM 9.5* I've ever hit. It was not too bad.

The R5 was obviously launching very high and I was actually impressed by the distance. I carried it as far as the Rapture but hit some of the 1st true hooks with a driver in a long, long time.

Then I pulled out the Superquad. Game over. Carried at least 10yds. further than any of them on a mid boring flight. Dispersion was also way tighter.

My boss hit the Superquad and couldn't put it down. He hit 2-3 yd. draws on the same flight as I get. I may be building another one.
