Visually the Odyssey black wins hands down IMHO. Trying them I really couldn't put one over the other. But I haven't been putting good until recently. And the Ping Redwood Anser is prettier then the Scotty also IMHO.

The Odyssey Black are the best putters they produce, IMHO. Unfortunately, they still come up a bit short of the Scotty. I have a 33/350 Studio Style Newport 2 in the collection and love it. Great feedback, awesome feel, good distance control. The only reason it is not my gamer is that I have switched over to center shafted no offset putters.

The Black putts pretty good, too. It is a fine instrument, but it did not feel as good in my hands as the Studio Style.

Give both putters a roll and see how they work for you.

They're both great putters, but I believe the Scotty's are slightly better. The feel of the scotty is just flat out better. Also most of the scotty cameron putters are just great to look at also.

Totally disagree. The feel off the Odyssey is streets ahead of the firmer feel of the Scottys I've tried. Its just a matter of preference

It depends what scotty you've tried.Soft doesn't necessarily mean its better.

No........you switched over to putters made of plutonium - or some other element that makes a putter weigh as much as a small car.

True and if you looking at a newer scotty with the insert in the face, those IMHO dont feel as good as the older Scotty's. I have a Newport and love it, that being said I may be getting rid of it...

I never cared for the Studio Style. Seems to be a mass production Scotty with no real character. Oddysey's never impressed me. I have yet to see the Black series in person but anything previous looks like a plastic toy and weighs about 200grams to little for me. I'd take an old Anser over either of them.

Isnt the Newport model the one Tiger uses? I do agree though that the newer Newports look...cheap when compared to other Scotty's. I will say that my scotty has a TON more feel than my old Anser, but truth be told they are both good putters...

I took a Black off the rack at a GG this winter said to my self this looks like a sweet putter looked at the 399$ price tag said wow this must be good. Took one swing and placed it back on the rack, it sucked big time especially for the price

I'm not saying soft is better, but every Scotty I have tried has been to hard off the face for me,as I said earlier, its personal preference. What I have discovered at my club is that Scottys are the only putter where a balanced view seems to be hard to come by,the price and inherent trinket effect of owning one seems to effect opinions.

Only 2 things matter when putting, being comfortable and staying still, everything else is personal preference.Struggling with a putter that you can't get comfortable with just because its a top brand and cost a lot of money seems bizarre to me.

There is no 'better' when it comes to putting, there is only 'ball in hole'.Yoda said that and he plays off scratch

Yup. It works for me. I actually have just received my components to upgrade my Yes! Carolyne. UST Freq Filtererd shaft and Tour Lock Pro Grip and 100g weight. After I add weight to the clubhead, Sweet Carolyne will be ready to roll and see if she can get into the bag over Heavy Putter.

As always, I am on the look out for a Scotty Red X2 33/350 at a good price. Center shafted/no offset with that Scotty feel. I must be the polar opposite of Dave, I hate the soft face feel and prefer the firmer face feel.
