Highest degree lob wedge

Whats the highest degree lob wedge people can have (assuming you don't get one custom made)?

Cheers

Highest I've seen is 64º. I've got an old one somewhere that's been hit maybe 5 times...waaaayyyy too much loft for me. I don't even play a 60º.

I think 64º is the only somewhat fairly available extreme loft out there. Dave Pelz's website sells them and Mickelson was using one at Winged Foot last year.

Cleveland released 64* wedges commercially, and there's a Wilson Harmonized version pretty widely available in most sports and golf stores under the name 'Trouble Wedge'.

Of course, for the more extreme golfers out there then the only choice has to be Feel Golf's 73* wedge...

Why would anyone ever need a 72/73º wedge?

Didn't they have to recall the 73 degree wedge because of so many golfers hitting the ball straight up into their chins?

I have a 64* up in the attic somewhere. No need to open the face on it when I used it. Currently the highest lofted wedge in my bag is 58* as I had too large of gaps at the top end of the bag when I carried the 60* and hardly used the 56* enough to justify carrying it around.

I would hit myself in the head with the ball if I played a 72º wedge...the BACK of my head.

I had to play a round once where I rushed out and grabbed my bag, forgetting that it still had the clubs I'd been trying out at the range rather than my usual set-up in it. Only when I arrived on the first tee did I realise I was carrying a 50*, 52* and a 64* wedge set-up...

Good fun round though - lots of low chips and pitches with the 52* rather than flying it up there with higher lofted wedges, and I tried a couple of extravagent 30yd flop shots with the 64* that actually came out pretty good. But I *did* have to spend the entire round praying I didn't hit a bunker, as I didn't have a wedge in my bag with more than 6* of bounce on it!

How about an utterly ridiculous 80.
X-Factor Sports - Featuring Golf, Tennis, and Health Products

I use a 60*, and own a 64* that stayed in my bag for about 1 round prior to realizing it was not worth the trouble for me.

I use a 91* wedge for when I drive it over the green and need to go back.

i have a 64* copper wilson harmonized wedge. i currently play 53/60, but when i carry 4 wedges, i carry pw,52,56 (racs),64. the 64 is great if you can learn to hit it , but i really see little need for more than 60* of loft.
