Paint coming off clubs

I bought my MP60s on 10 March. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed the pait was coming off of the number on the 6 iron. The paint has come off the 8 and 3 now. I have less then 30 rounds on these clubs. I called Mizuno CS and they said there was nothing that could be done.

I understand, that the paint will eventually wear off due to use but I wouldn't expect it to happen this soon. Also, I've never had this happen to any of my other irons I have owned. I take very good care of my clubs. I clean them after every round and keep club covers on them and this irritates me to no end to have the paint coming off.

What's you guys' take on this? and Mizuno's stance as to not doing anything about it?

I tried finding an email contact to their USA corporate, but was unable to find anything.

Thanks,

Robert

Paint wears off my Hogans quickly as well. Go to a model toy shop and buy some matching paint.

I have Titleist DCI Golds that are 14 years old and the red paint on the sole that indicates the loft is still mostly intact. I estimate I have played 500 rounds with them..

I'd be worried they are knockoffs.

SDVM: That's what Mizuno CS told me to do. I just think it's kinda sad that with the clubs being this new I have paint coming off.

Bravo: I'm pretty sure they aren't knock offs. I bought them from a Mizuno rep who fitted me for them. At least I hope they aren't knock offs, then I've got bigger problems with Mizuno!!

Unfortunately, that's one of the many areas some companies cut corners.

There's not much use in fighting it...best bet is to redo it yourself...you can get paint fill from places like Golfworks...but instead of hoppy paint, we recommend nail polish...and a coat of clear coat...very durable.

Lightbulb Paint

From what I hear from my friends who owns Mizzys are that wear and tear happens really quickly due to the materials they use for forging the iron. Have to sacrifice durability for performance and feel. Not only the paint but the irons gets chipped easily too.

forged irons get nicked up a hole lot quicker then cast. mine have little chatter marks on them from the other clubs in the bag.

Well, I vote for going to get some acetone and finish taking all the rest of the paint off! I think 'naked' clubs look kick-@ss!!

Where is it coming off? Just on the "Mizuno"? I say strip the blue off as well. Now if you could strip the cavity as well and "gun blue" it... that would kick some serious @$$.

It's not Mizuno's fault the paint is coming off.

That works pretty good, FYI, I've noticed that some paint from a company called Games Workshop works well.

Well your friend is incorrect, and needs to take better care of his irons. I've played about...100 rounds, at least, with my 33s, and almost no perceivable change. Before I owned them, Sling had them, as well as Rock.

The paint is a fluke, as the paint in my irons is still pristine. Just gotta take care of your stuff, when it comes to wear and tear.
