Thread: Matrix code 7 shaft?

  1. #1

    Matrix code 7 shaft?

I've read a bit about a new shaft BB Golf Solution 130 which I guess is designed by the designer of some of the Agressive shafts- someone said it profiled almost identical to the Matrix Ozik Code 7 shaft but at less than 1/4 the price

anyone here have any idea what kind of swing these shafts would be suited for?

can you name any shafts that might be similar? (NV, Blue, V2?)

    Thanks

  2. I have heard nothing but good things about the BB golf solution shafts. I plan on trying them out soon.

    please keep us posted lyle

any idea what this shaft should be similar to?

  4. Well the measurement I have seen have been virtually indentical to the OZIK. I believed they measure frequency along 7 points of the shaft and all 7 points were at the most 3-4 cpms off. As Tom Wishon says, 2 shafts that measure indentically, will play indentically. They may not feel exactly the same, or look the same or cost the same, but performance will be exactly the same.
    Here are those numbers

    Wow! I'm flattered!

I'm the guy who posted the information you talked about and Lyle cut and pasted my results.

Before I agreed to carry these, I did the testing of these...dimensionally, functionally and and cosmetically...and found these to be superior than most anything I've tried and carried.

The fact that it turned out the same results of the Ozik was a fluke.

I did the shaft profile of this (taking cpm measurements at beem lengths 5" incrementally apart)..and thought: "Wow! That sucker is smooth....with REAL consistent density".

It wasn't till a day or so later that I fed the info into my database, and then hit the "sort" button to see where it landed in comparison to others (I expected to find it very close to the Accra T series)...

I WAS very close to the Accra...but was literally identical to the Ozik! I was floored!

I called the mfg immediately (like around 11:30pm his time) and said "I want the exclusive on this".

When I'm asked about what OTHER shafts this compares to?

I tell people in regards to "feel" (since most have never hit an Ozik) I equate it to the feel sensation of the YS-6...the NVS...Pro Launch Blue...Fuji 27.3....imagine that gentle feel, but loading ferociously at impact.

The Soultion series is (what I hope) will be the instigator to let the masses know that component prices on some products have gotten out of control and it's time to buy sensibly.

The Solution is an $88 alternative to the $399 Ozik Code series...

    Guess what?

The $80 Tour Swing Tour is identical to the $300 Creation from Accuflex...

The $59 Tour Swing Vengeance SL is identical to the $90 Evo lite from Accuflex....

PLus, there's a component company that specialized in heads, that just came out with their own line of shafts selling in the $80 range that are nothing more than cheap fiber wound shafts that sell for around $10 retail.

Bottom line is the normal end user pays extra for hype, marketing, status and cosmetics.

I would prefer seeing golfers pay realistic prices, save their money to buy lessons.

I've got one the way down to me from indacup himself, I'll lets ya know what its like it arrives and I get it shafted up

  7. Indacup,

Thanks for the info. Glad to have you here.

As for the head company with the $10 shaft selling for $80. Would the name happen to start with an S and end with a T?

    Lyle.... "no comment" :emot-ange

  9. Great info and glad to have you around Indacup.

I was thinking of just grabbing a Code 6 pull but after reading this, those comprable profile shafts are my polar opposites.

Got any info on something that plays like a Diamana Blue, Diamana Red, or Speeder 757 but in a 65-70gram range?

Ez, are you sure the profile is the polar opposite? i didn't think this thing was a low kick/high launch high spin shaft like the prolaunch and NVS

is it posssible to feel soft like the low kick stuffthat but profile more like a mid/high kick type shaft?

I've looked at the CPM profile indacup and lyle posted, but without comprable numbers for other shafts i'm familiar with (prolaunch, NV, etc) i really can't figure out what this shaft is all about

you guys have any of this info handy?

  11. The code 7 is stiff tip, mid launch, low spin, and apprently one of the fastest recovering shafts ever made.

Thanks Lyle - what kind of swing would benefit from this kind of shaft?
(assuming you look at tempo and release and all that good stuff)

  13. Code 7 was designed for fast tempo players. It is a big hitters shaft.

Where's the bendpoint/kickpoint? Sounds like it would play similar to the Blueboard with these descriptions. I like the "fast recovery" thing. I am getting some cash together to build either a BurnerTP, a DCT or an R7TP shallow face. I may try to pick up the Code 6 or Code 7 as a pull for an alternative to a Diamana.

if you're thinking about the code 7, I would think this Solution shaft at less than 1/4 the price would be an obvious choice no?
