Question TaylorMade Men’s R7 Quad HT Driver (Graphite Shaft)

TaylorMade Men’s R7 Quad HT Driver (Graphite Shaft)

Hi,
I had found very good driver for very cheap price.
I'm junior amateur (age 17, height 1.90m),
and this club have particular sizes:
Loft: 11.5°
Flex: Senior

Right now I know nothing much about golf clubs, and I need your advice.
Do this club is good for amateur golf player? (I need more advice about, does this club fit on me, it has Senior flex, does this flex have differences from Regular or Stiff flex?, and loft, does this loft is not too big?)

Thanks all for you advices!

Tell us more about your golf. What do you currently use for teeing off. General shot shape(draw, straight, fade ,high low etc) and your Carry distance with your 8 iron. Smooth swing?? or fast transition. How long do you want to keep this driver.

What Zaph said. The Quad is an awesome driver (Is the HT USGA Legal?), but we need to know more about you.

In my game I use only Irons (3, 5, 7, 8, sometimes 9, 58 loft iron, Pitch and Sand Iron), but on training course I use TaylorMade RC540XD Conforming Driver with 9.5 Loft and Stiff Shaft ( and some Irons). Practically all my shots with Driver is over 200 yards with big ball turn to the right side (1-3 shots of ten is straight).

With my 8 Iron I can shot 140-150 yards (my range shoot with 8 Iron), and about 110 yards is altitudinal shot (more for air).
Hight range shots is with fast transition swing but closer shots with smooth swing.

Right now I don't care is it or not
HT USGA Legal.
This will be my first game driver, whit which I will learn Driver shots and play with it in game or in small tournaments.

Hope to use it when I will learn good, straight and far Driver shoots, and then I think to change it.

I know this is good Driver, but that Senior flex and 11.5 loft, is it good for start?
Loft is not a big problem, but Senior flex, do this Flex have any differences from Regular or Stiff Flex?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, the HT is a shallower faced version of the original Quad. A couple of tour guys used it at one point, Mike Weir was one, along with Sean O'Hair.

there is no "senior stiff".. its just senior.. and a senior shaft is very whippy and flexible, a ton more so than the stiff flex you say you are hitting on the practice course..

id say, dont get it.. the 11.5 loft will launch the ball rediculously high, and the flex appears to be way too flexible for you, if you hit your 8 iron 140-150 yds..

Another last questions,
Which flex and loft is good for starting (for Driver)?

well you need to get your Swing Speed measured.. 95-105 mph is stiff flex.. anything above that and Extra Stiff, below that and regular flex..

loft depends on your swing type.. different swings require different lofts. take the time to "Demo" different drivers(any good pro-shop should have drivers for demo) and then when you see how far each respective loft goes, you should pick the loft that goes the farthest.
