Chrome chip in my Cleveland Irons

I just bought a used set of TA3's that are in very good shape. The only thing that concerns me is the chrome of the 8 iron. It is chipped and partially lifting on the sole. The chip is small (roughly the size of this asterisk..*), but I don't want it to expand or worse yet start peeling off the sole of the club. Any advice on what I should do.

If it is not chipping around it or flaking don't worry about it. If it is lifting and flaking grind that spot off carefully. Keep the rust out of it by oiling that area between rounds. Chrome doesn't usually chip from contact but from when corrosion gets underneath it.

Warbirdlover is the man when it comes to questions like this.

As a side note, there are companies that specialize in re-chroming golf clubs. It's around $30/head. Just a bit of trivia to stash away.

Did you end up getting the TA3's from the guy who wouldn't answer your shaft question?

No...I didn't trust that guy. But I lucked out and found another set on ebay that included a gap wedge and the guy lives close to me so I saved shipping and picked them up. I went and played them today for the first time and didn't bother with the range....they are almost a full club shorter than my previous set, but they are straight when needed, workable, and very smooth.

Maybe a less stiff shaft?
