I use zero friction as well. Some good reviews on them on the site last year, so I picked up a package. I have been using the same ZF tee since I bought them. From the initial purchase, I am only down 1 tee that I lost the first time I tried them at the range. Hit the ball and could not find the tee. The 2nd tee out of the pack has lasted all summer.
About the only performance change I have noticed is my ability to put the ball on the tee. If your tee is not level, your ball will fall off the 3 prongs.
The initial price is expensive compared to its wood counter parts, but a bag of 50 ZF's will outlast a bag of 1000 wood tees. The ZF's are also biodegradable and more environmentally friendly as they simply do not break leaving the tee box clutted with broken tees like the wood ones. The only downside to the ZF is that there are less broken wood tees on the par 3's to find and re-use.
I could see the ZF being difficult to put in the ground if your tee boxes are hard ground like Lyle complained about. They do bend a bit, but I have been fortunate enough not to run into any hard ground tee boxes so that has not been an issue for me, yet.
Crooked Cat + Crooked Driver = Crooked numbers on the card.
