i use the zero friction tees also
a pack lasts me about a year, better than going to golfsmith and buying a bag of 1000
they do feel much different that hitting from a wooden tee
im not sure the friction could make more than a few inches of distance difference
its nice to use 1 tee all round without breaking all those damn wood ones
plus, 6 bucks for 50 and they last all year, works for me

a buddy of mine had these
Velocitee Golf Tees by Name It Golf, Inc.

and lots of older guys at my course use these

I found one that was two parts connected by a "plasticcy,rubbery" section. I used it for a couple rounds, then for about two lessons (drivers) before it failed.
They are called "a-Balance Tee's"

Tried a couple of Tomahawx tee's the other day, didn't care for them for various reasons.
