Anyone use those crazy new tees?

Brush Tees, Tees without round tops for your ball to sit on, but rather just a few prongs (picture a setting for a solitaire diamond ring).

These things are supposed to reduce friction between ball and tee in the millisecond the ball takes to accelerate, and the tess all promise to allow you to "hit more fairways."

Funny, it was the tees all along!!!

My son (he's just 11 and thinks they are cool) loves them. I can't bring myself to do it.....

Anyone like them?

I think you mean the zero friction tees? Obviosly a gimmick with no merit. I've found a few on the course and they are more durable than a regular tee. I could see reusing them more often but think there is any distance or accuracy benefit is a joke. Someone else had said this... "how much does the tee slow down the head of the driver? About as much as bug hitting your windshield at 75mph." Probably not even that much.

BTW - has anyone else ever gotten a spark when they hit a driver? I get one every now and then, weird.

Whatever trips your trigger. Can not see friction loss here. But their design helps with consistent tee height. If it slams your doors go for it. For me the idea has only one oar in the water

Love those sparks. So cool!!!Hot

I use the Epoch tees, simply because they are plastic and one will last a whole round for me. I have no belief that they reduce friction or anything else that may benefit the millisecond that the clubhead comes into contact with the tee and ball.

I think I use zero friction tees for the same reason I think they're called zero friction anyway....it's been so long since I bought the package- that same tee stays with me for the round (except on par 3's and I always look for broken wooden tees on par 3s)

I use the Zero Friction mainly cause they don't break as easy.

I know people who use the Brush tee's because it lasts them the whole season.

I don't believe it effects ball flight in anyway.

I'm another Zero Friction user. I found one on the course and tried it out. It finally broke after several rounds and so I decided to pick up a bag. They simply last for what seems like forever! The next time I tee it up will be my current tee's 6th round!

I don't buy into any claimed performance enhancements, I simply like the look and the durability.

Next time I buy a pack, they'll definitely be Yellow or White though...blue is too hard to find in the grass.

I use the yellow brush tee.

It tees it up a consistent height every time. One will last you an entire season. AND you never have to wander around the tee box looking for your tee. It's just sitting right there. Pick it up and go.

As said before, any claims more than having a consistent tee height improving your game (distance etc.) is pure rubbish.

A lady I golfed with used to have to wander around looking for her brush tee. It usually landed 20ft in front of her.

I've used the Epoch tees for the same reason Tmag pointed out - they seem impossible to break and last a whole round.

I got given a pack of Brush Tees but found the heights of the ones designed for the driver were just totally wrong for me. The blue one designed for fairway woods is absolutely perfect for me, though, so I always carry one in my pocket and use it whenever I tee off with my 4w.

The only 'gimmick' I have on the tees I now use for my driver is that they have a coloured band painted on them which helps me get a consistent height with them.

I use either stinger tees or zero frictions. The stingers just look kool, and the zero frictions are just so durable.

I also have a small normal plastic tee which ive been using for like 2 years and counting

Seeing as contact is made between ball and tee it cannot be "zero friction", therefore I propose that we all start throwing the ball up in the air and whacking it before it lands for true zero friction.

I think all titanium drivers cause sparks when they brush the grass on a swing. I think the reason you don't see it more often is that you don't notice them during the day. If you take your driver out in the backyard at night and have a few swings you will see the sparks really fly.

Another epoch user here.

Very tough tee, and much easier to get into hard grpund than the zero friction tees which always bend all out of whack.
