Anyone pull a shaft from a Launcher Comp ?

With the composite top, is it difficult to pull without hurting it ? Any opinions or advice appreciated.

Yes. Composites are very tough to pull the shaft from. Make sure you take it to someone who knows what they are doing and will warranty the work. No, "sorry sir, I think we may have melted your driver.".

They're actually easier than most all metal drivers, when done right.

As a precautionary measure, we recommend you get a cloth, dip it in cold water and wrap it around the head, exposing just the hosel, and about 1/2" below it.

Asctually, if you got an old thick sock, those work wonderfully...apply heat quickly around the exposed area...and no further...and periodically increase pressure on the extracttor...it'll pop off a lot sooner than expected.

If it's the stock shaft, just cut it and drill it out. That shaft is worth less than a stick of gum.

It came with an NVS 65. I thought I might give it to a buddy if I could get it out without wrecking the head. I have pulled lots of heads, but never a composite one. I will try with the wet cloth over the crown. Thanks to all for the tips and suggestions.

What they mean to say is THEY can't do it because THEY'RE unable to do anything more than Cut-n-glue.

Have your buddy take the driver to a real clubfitter...they will use a hot rod to heat it up internally and get the job done.

No problem.
