Undoing what Ezra done did.

As some of you know, I recently acquired a TM SQ that was formally owned by one Ezra 76. Thats right, the infamous SuperQuad lob driver! Previous links discussed how to remove beautiful paintfill in an effort to be different, a problem many Taylormade owners face. I personally like paintfill, especially on an all black clubhead. So, I'm giving it a go. Here is a before pic. Wish me luck!

You know the driver off the deck? Yeah. Pic makes it look worse than it is. I have half the fill in, and it looks a lot better.

OK, we're making progress. Paintfill is mostly done; I just need to touch-up a spot or two. Now I'm taking on the yellow "wings" on the back of sole. I hope I didn't screw up in trying those.

It's looking pretty good man. As you can tell, that black face and sole don't hold up all that well. Every little scratch is magnified x 10.

Oh, and yes, I hit that off the deck a bunch of times. It's actually pretty good off the deck. You still got a great deal when you consider it cost me $497 to build it.

OK. Tape is off the wings. Here is a pic of the progress so far. The wings look rough because I haven't cleaned up the edges with a blade yet. I think it will look good. the paintfill distracts you from the sole paint being a little worn. The sunlight really makes the scratching in the black paint stand out.
