Thread: It's time to add another hybrid

  1. Exclamation It's time to add another hybrid

After having a difficult time with my 3 wood and 5 wood from the fairway and rough this weekend, I have decided it's time to get a hybrid replacement for the 19* 5 wood. The 3 wood will get replaced with the 17* 4 wood for more height off the fairway.

So I will be buying another Nickent 3DX Ironwood DC, probably in 20*. Unfortunately, they are hard to find with a regular flex UST V2 shaft, so I will surely have to have it reshafted.

If anyone has a 20* that they want to sell, I'm ready to buy.

    Hogan Forged Radial 3-SW

Do you know the difference between a BMW and a porcupine? The porcupine has its' pricks on the outside.

  3. Thanks, Rock, but they only have the UST SpeedRated shaft. I tried that shaft on the 23° and did not like it. So any club I get will have to be reshafted with the V2 to the tune of $100. :(

  4. The Nickent "Utility" is a bigger head (more like a fairway wood) then the "Ironwood" that plays like an iron.

3DX Ironwood DC in 20° please. The shaft is not of primary importance
but a V2 in regular flex is what I play.

And I may be looking for a 17° later, so if you run across one of those.......................

i'll see what i can do. hopefully the Nickent promotion at work isn't over yet.

i didn't know they made two types (the ironwood, and the utility) so first i'll have to check and see which we carry. i know my specific store had a 2h/ 17* and a 4h/ 23* . so if we indeed do carry the model you're looking for and i can get one transferred from another store you should be in luck.

i'd been liking the looks of these so if i can get my hands on one, you'll have to accept one slightly used

what do these go for retail?

Comparing my 4 hybrid to the 4 iron is a joke, I hit the iron well even in the rough, whereas that damn hybrid just laughs & mocks me.

Well, at least I can say I'm manning up and not hitting a 19 wood or a shaft whippier than a garden hose.
