REMOVING Paint Fill Help

Anyone have any thoughts on the best way to REMOVE paint fill? I have read that WD-40 does a good job... hadn't thought of that option, honestly.

It's a old Ping Anser 2 Stainless Steel putter.... durable as hell, so I can pretty much put anything on it that works. I did my own paint fill on it years ago in a metallic copper color..... and it's time for a change.

So....... who has paint fill REMOVAL tips?

Thanks in advance,
Bryan

Acetone.... Thanks.

I am assuming this will sort of "liquify" the paint, and I have to get it wiped off there pretty quickly before it resets/dries slightly?

Can I add water or another liquid to help this along, or at least make the paint removal quicker and easier? i.e. acetone, wiping, scrubbing, etc. until I have a big mess of liquid paint.....and then a water dunk and more wiping, scrubbing to remove it all?

Acetone is nasty stuff, iirc. Gloves for sure, I suppose?

Acetone isn't that bad just wash your hands afterwards. If you only have a little paint removal to do just dip some Q-Tips in it and get the paint fill out. Much cleaner way to do it.

you need nitromorse mate and you only need a tiny amount you can get a can from most diy and such like if you painted it yourself it will be off in under minutes. next time if you want the finish to last longer then after painting it and after drying get some cheap 1 pack car clear lacqure and spray this on then just wipe of the excess with your finger then quickly wipe it off your finger, dont use a cloth as you will get bits of fabaric stuck in the finish, only small ones but it would p me off. if you dont want to use your finger then mask off the putter apart from said lettering then spray then use some high numbers wet and dry paper and just rub it real softly in one direction after removing tape obviously. jobs a gud un. if you dont like the color do it again, it will take you minutes. and dont let anyone tell you you will damage the face of the putter, how do you think pros repair putter, taking all the marks out of them they flat the whole lot down, gradually going through the grade till they reach about 1500 - 2000 then they using cutting paste and a mop! hope this helps.
