busy day

not quite sure how it all happened today, but I have a tracking number for an inbound Wishon 919 driver with BBGD Solution shaft to try which i'm pretty excited about
and have 2 hybrids inbound as well, both 24* - a Titleist 585 which I have pretty low expectations for and an infiniti assure which I think is more likely to be a keeper...I'll try to post pics and reviews soon

you will like the 585.. its a little less forgiving, but definately no hook machine.. a very sweet club!

at least you know when they arrlve i am currenty waiting on a scotty and a set of j33 irons and there'll be noone home tomrrow if they do arrive

we'll see - still skeptical - I think I decided I'm going to reshaft it before I even try it at the range - should arrive tomorrow - damn taper tips...

semi-funny story - I emailed Titleist today to ask what the spec headweight is - figured I could try to guess what the swingweight would be when I reshafted it with my cut-down 4 iron Rifle 5.5, but got a reply back that it was proprietary info and he couldn't tell me (although I can weigh it) -

I know they don't sell component heads, but isn't that kinda nuts? if they know I can/will weigh it, why not just tell me? - guess I'll be breaking out the scale...

Titleist have some funny little policies.

Over here in AUS a retailer (Drummond Golf, House of Golf etc) won't even give you a price over the phone as there deals with Titleist won't allow it. You actually have to physically go into the store to get a price on there stuff. Weird. And a giant PITA.

you're certainly more patient than I am...if that was the case here, I wouldn't have a single titleist product
I get impatient with Wishon's "call or email for price" policy and KZG's "we're special, and won't sell over the internet regardless of how much it hurts our business" policy

I haven't seen alot of Solution pulls....it's actually just a demo unless I fall in love with it - i'm looking forward to seeing what I can do with this thing - i hit my current driver pretty well, but don't get any roll - dropping the loft while trying to maintain loft angle should help a bit I think

and....I don't really sell stuff - I seem to be more of a hoarder than a normal "ho"

There are ways around it. If I ring up for a price I tell them a made up price and they'll usually say whether they can match, beat or to take it.
The 905 S I got usually retails for $400, so I rang up a retailer and said "i've got a quote for $300, can you match or beat it?" They never tell you a price but they will say they can match or beat it so at least you get an idea.

The 24* Titleist 585 is in much better shape than I had expected - it needs to be reshafted, but it's in the bag - for $50 - I think it was a pretty good deal

I thought I'd like the Infiniti Assure more, but I didn't hit it any better than my current 4 iron - included a picture of that too

The 585's are sweet. I got a 21 degree one about 3 weeks ago, then replaced my 7 wood with a 24 degree one last week and now I've got a 19 degree one this week which will be going head to head against my 3 wood for a place in the bag.

I'd like it better if it came with a .370 bore - I'm going to kill about an hour around lunch driving to a clubmaker to have it reamed out so I can put a decent shaft into it

(I have some .370 shafts laying around, but can't even find a taper tip I like that isn't on backorder)
