I had a 1 iron from Golfsmith about that size 25 years ago or so. I could hit it pretty well and used it quite a bit. Everything in golf is bigger now than back then, but not always better IMO.

i still have a 1 iron, i dont see the problem, there grrreat! as the tiger says, off the tee off the deck, it makes no diffrence, i used to be able to hit my old taylor made (driver) tour burner 7.0 off the deck and boy did i get some role on that thing. if your brain says you cant hit it, you wont.
i recently read a review somewhere about all of mizunos forged blades and to my surprise their most unforgiving blades where my old trusty TP11 of which my 1 iron is!! all these rescue things are crap IMO.

play real golf with the best blades out there!!.
