New flatstick (October edition)

Well, there was a little extra on my last paycheck, and with the help of some old clubs that were just taking up space (a few old wedges and a 2iron), I went out and got myself a new putter.

My Odyssey XG #9 had been gold most of the year, but I had absolutely zero distance control around the cup on my recent golf trip, so I felt like I needed to make a change. If nothing else, give my eyes something different to look at.

So I picked up this Rossa AGSI+ Imola 8. Great feel, and I have a nice, consistent stroke with this whereas I have felt like I had to force a good stroke with my Odyssey.

Here's some (lousy) pics.

Nice putter there Fitz. I agree with you, I cant get a consistent distance stroke with that putter. It gets pretty annoying.

Not my favorite design but a nice putter nonetheless. I've tried a few mallets myself and none of them have good distance control. I've been swapping back and forth from the KC2 semi-mallet, it's more like a cross between and Answer and a B60 and the Teardrop. The Teardrop gets close from long distance but shaky on the 6-7 footers. The KC2 is money inside 5ft. but a lacks the speed control from long distance and downhill. I'm looking for something in between those 2. Might try one of the new Pings that just came out.

For me, I think it's a little easier to align, being thinner than most putters on the market. Putters like the Marxman or the 2-Ball are fine if alignment aids like those work for you, but I have a hard time using aids like that. Instead, I just line up the thin blade perpendicular to the line of my putt.

Horses for courses, I guess. We'll see how things go.

i have that same putter. best ive used so far, it feels way better then the white hots IMO. it has a insert in the face but it feels more like a milled putter then most of the really soft feeling Odyssey putters.
