Bags

I just purchased a PING staff bag through Golfsmith for $150. I shunned staff bags for years but the PING at that price was too good to pass up. Golf Digest once said that staff bags are for good golfers and golfers who think they're good. I am neither. I am an average player at best and know that I am only an average player (I may be giving myself too much credit). I can hit a 2 iron though.

anyhow, does anyone else use staff bags. if so, what do you think of the? I plan on using mine on my pull cart when I walk.

I had a taylormade r7 staff bag for awhile, very pretty bag... then I sold it. It wouldn't fit it on any carts! I then went and bought the taylormade T2 mini staff, which is sweet!

I think all staff bags should be burned. There is absolutly no need for them.

My boss has a Mizuno one. It looks nice but more of a pain the a$$ than it's worth IMO. Just too big and bulky. He also can't get at anything in the bag once it's strapped to the cart. I don't see anything wrong with having one as far as implications. I do have a bit of an infamous thread on WRX about 2 guys at the range who had them though. They had embriodered names on them and full "TP" gear top to bottom. They looked like pretty athletic guys too so I took a peek at them, wondering if they maybe were pro's. Well 3 straight skymarks on Superquad TP in a row and I decided "probably not".

They are just a lot of extra weight that there is no reason to have. I have a Cobra GT stand bag and I cant stand how heavy it is. But if you like it, then go for it. You can never walk 9-holes again though.

Yeah unless your a tour player WITH a caddie, there is no need for one. very bulky. Although like EZ pointed out, they may make us crappie guys look like pro's!!
