Worth a shot I guess

I found a 16* orginal MidTP on GG for only $45. Since they also have a 10% discount going on I was able to get it for a total of about $51.50 shipped. Figured at that price it's worth a shot. I recall my 19* being very easy to hit, mid-high and straight. I only got rid of it because it was too close to my 5W and too far from my 5iron. I basically was banking on the 23* Nickent I had on the time for that one to stay as well but the Nickent pretty well stunk as far as distance I was getting from it. So I like the fact it's a shaft/head combo I really liked in the 19* and the price was right. It comes with the TP Graphics on a Fujikura Vista Pro 90g hybrid shaft.

Cool pickup Ez, if you want a diamana 3w shaft to try out in it lmk, ill give it to ya cheap, i just want to get rid of it at this point.

I saw a 16* on wrx awhile back and thought trying the diamana might be a tight combo with it.

Thanks. The TP hybrids are .355 taper tips though. The VP is a good shaft though and should provide decent control at that weight. I know it'll be seeing a lot of action at Swansea. There are 2 par 3's I'll use it on and at least 2 par 4's as well that should get me into SW and GW range in. One has water at like 225-230 and the other is just stupid to risk driver or 3W and have 50-70yds. on a perfect shot. I prefer dead on 100 for the SW or 115 for the GW. Nothing to think about there but try to hit the flagstick.

I'm looking forward to trying it. Wonder if I should get a headcover for it or just leave it necked. I was a few bucks short of a 60* Vokey. I need to sell a couple little things to get another $15-$20 for one.

Ez, I thought the Mid TP in graphite was a .335 and if it came with steel it was .355. I am not 100%, but 95%

Considering that would mean production or 2 indeticle heads but with 2 different hosel diameters, I doubt it. I can look it up though.

I'm pretty sure I put a .335 in one for a buddy 2-3 years ago.

Well I stand corrected. That's odd. Not that I'm wrong, that TM would bother doing that. I guess maybe there weren't too many options available back then for hybrid shafts. Hmmm.... that means a Redboard would fit in there.

Yeh ez, I would stick that redboard in there in a heartbeat. Good luck with that club, hope it works.

That's what I was thinking. The Redboard would be sweet in the hybrid.

I don't think I'd pull "the" Redboard. The playing length of that shaft is still enough for a driver so it would be kind of stupid to cut it down that much. Plus at 69g's to begin with, what would it weigh 3"'s shorter? It really opens the door for other options though. A lot of shafts could be had dirt cheap if they are short.

Lol. I don't really like the Blueboard all that much. Plus a 83g shaft out of an R5TP would be super cheap if I were to go that way. I gotta at least play it with the VP90 first. I really liked it in the 19* so might be pointless to switch it. I hit the Nickent 4dx in the 17* with the SR3 shaft in the shop today. Shaft felt decent but I wasn't really crazy about it. Nickent has paint issues, I'm convinced. That 4dx in the shop is trashed with huge chips in it. The 23* I had was the same way and so is every used one I see.
