This One's for Lyle

You ever dealt with or hit the Stulz shaft? The one with the triangular insert.

I played with a guy who had one fitted to his driver earlier on this season, and he both hit it well and really liked it. It looked really cool too, with the blue really shining in the sunshine.

I suspect that it could have been the worst shaft in the world and he'd have loved it as long as it looked cool though, whereas he'd have hated the best shaft in the world if it didn't stand out when he pulled it from his bag...

Last I checked I'm not Lyle - but could possibly help, what are you interested in knowing?

Lol I dont care who you are, I thought Lyle had the best chance of knowing about it is all. I would like to know if other people have played it on the course. I hit it in the launch monitor with range balls. How does it feel with regular balls and out on the course how it performs overall. Also how does it compare to the V2 and the Grafalloy Blue.

Thanks in advance Bames.

We got a few of these when they came out and at the time were really nice....for a nano shaft (I believe they were the first to do Nano sucessfully)...it was very nice...decent feel and tight.

One thing though....there is an arrow on the butt section showing you where to align with the club head...If you follow that alignment, you'll be satisfied...if you don't, you're screwed...Difference is night and day.

We let our inventory burn out because they were too expensive and too many other options that came out at half the price that were as or close to as good.

(chuckle)...I just remember last year getting a "Super deal" from a supplier I hadn't worked with...offering me these shafts for like 1/5th of normal dealer price...but a dozen...when they arrived they were all .350"....It was my fault, I saw the price in big bold print and didn't see the size in small print.

Oh well, live and learn!

Bottom line, if you are getting this at a good price...go for it...they're a pretty shaft and just make sure you align it properly!

Have fun!

Let me begin by letting you know that my "knowledge" on this shaft is limited - very limited. I caddied one time and a guy in our group played this shaft. He was borrowing a local pro's clubs because his did not make the flight, so it was his first time swinging it. He hit it further than anyone I've ever seen and I've caddied quite a few times. He would not stop talking about the shaft's performance. He said it had a wicked kick and he felt like he could give it all he had and it never backed down. He said he normally did not drive that far (not well mind you, "far". He missed a few fairways ever now and then. Anyway, after the tourney I talked to him about it and he was just in awe about it. That is all I can tell you - good luck.

Thanks a lot Bames, anything helps. While I was hitting it in the simulator I also noticed that it could take anything you threw at it. The younger fitter there swings at 116mph. He took the club I was hitting that had the regular in it and it was only slightly soft for him. He was using a high speed camera to show me the shaft bend. It was pretty interesting actually. I would go to a regular from a stiff if I got this shaft.

Stulz Nano Arrow shaft pulled from a tour issue Adams - (eBay item 260173818560 end time Oct-28-07 20:16:42 PDT)

I don't think anyone stocks them here in AUS. Not that I've seen or heard anyway. Good luck with the search...

I've never bought anything on ebay from the states, what is the service to Aus like? I suppose at the moment our dollar is strong so it might be worth thinking about.

Really good depending on how they send it. To get the price just divide the total by .85 (or .9 I think it is at the moment) to get the AUS price. If they send US Priority mail its usually around the $30 mark (for drivers) and will get here in 3-4 weeks. First class mail is usually $35-40 and will be here in a week and a half or 2. And most of that is the hold up in customs. But First class mail gets treated better aswell so less chance of breakage.

I've had 3 drivers and a set of iron shafts sent here and no breakage or damage yet. So all depends on how much your willing to pay and how long you can wait.
