Looking for some irons

I found some extra money in the freezer that I forgot I had, and I am looking to get some up-to-date irons. I am currently swinging some 14+ year old titleist copys called Tourtakers that my dad bought when he started back playing in the early 90's. I have had these irons for probably 7 years and didn't really start playing them until April of this year. before I was only playing a couple times a year but now that I live on a course I play or practice a couple times a week. I am looking at getting a good used set of forged cavity backs. I like the Mizuno MP-60s, 2005 Taylormade TP LTs , and the Bridgestone J33cb. I shooting in the mid to low 90's. On a rare occasion I have I broke 90. I know that there is an unwritten rule of when you can swing blades but I fill the most comfortable form 115 and in with full wedge shots (52° -115yds and 56° - 100yds). I would like to get some MP-32 but from what I have read you have to have a single digit handicap to even pick one up in the golf shop.

Any suggestions?

MX-23's in the classifieds..but that's for purely selfish reasons!!

The J33cb's are easy to find at a good price and will probably be the least expensive of the 3 you mentioned. I've also read a lot of good things about the Wilson Pi5's, and with the Pi7's being out you can find the 5's at a good price, also.

Be sure to check Global Golf before you make a final decision.

Why was your money in the freezer?

Did I mention MX-23's?

Wasn't there a congressman who recently hid money in his freezer? Is that you??!!!!!!

You have a set of Titty knockoffs. Why not look at some of the Titty forged cavity backs? They offer the more forgiving forged 775 and 755cb's. There are quite a few sets of the 704cb's available on the used market.

Of the sets you mention, the Mizzy's are probably the easiest to hit. And, no, the MP32's aren't just for single digit cappers!! For a kissin' cousin to a full blown blade, they are pretty user friendly. Mizzy makes even added game improvement irons in the MP23 style.

Good luck. There are some great options out there for you to choose from.

Single digit (ish) handicapper who loves his 33s, and has a 32 2 iron and thinks the world of it.

The 32s are really solid clubs, they feel great, look great, and have workability. Plus, I love Mizuno.

Cold hard cash.

I always wondered where that expression came from.

MP-60's would get my vote. If I was not such a cheap bastard, I would have gotten a set of those rather than my Hogans. Love the way the MP-60's feel and play. A good transition set to blades as you will find them both playable and forgiving.

I'll suggest what I always do... MacGregor M565. If you use the topic search someone posted a lot of nice pictures a while back in the classified selling a set. They can be had very inexpensively on Ebay (which is where I got mine). I've enjoyed mine every day since I got them.
