You know your a Ho when.....

You find yourself surfing for irons that you do not need or really even want. You just want to buy them at a good price and see how they hit.

I got bored today and found myself on eBay surfing for iron sets, again. I am always trying to find a deal on Mizuno MP-60's, MP-30's, or even T-Zoid Pro II's. Today I was even surfing for Wilson Fi-5's, Ping.......yes, thats right, Ping Eye 2's (goes back to my caddying days, I already have a set of Wilson FG-17's, but the other popular set with the country club crowd back then were the Ping Eye 2's), as well a few of the Hogan sets. I came real close to pulling the trigger on a beat up set of Eye 2's, but thankfully the seller's minimum price was higher than my maximum price.

Its a freakin disease, I tell you. I have enough sets of irons to last me a lifetime and yet I am always on the lookout for another set. Someone should just me and put me out of my misery.

It really is a disease. I am currently looking to buy my 3rd lob wedge to go along with my 4 sandwedges. At this rate I am going to have every possible combination of loft and bounce offered by the end of the year. The bad part is I really don't need it and I hit my wedges fine.

Hahaha, Rob, I'm debating getting a 425 or 460 (r7) for my dad, that should help.

You mean like having 1 set of irons for sale, 1 new set still in the box, 1 old set regripped and in the bag, 1 set at the beach begging to be played, and 5 sets on your ebay watch list?

Nope, I have no idea what you're talking about, ualtim....

So how many drivers have been purchased through my Paypal?

I just bought another R7425... is that a "ho"? When you purchase the same model driver for the 6th time? At least I had 2 R510TP's, a Superquad with 4 shafts and a BurnerTP in between the last 2.

The J33cb's, Jeff...I decided I wouldn't even take the plastic off the heads until I sold the 23's.

It's ok, because I'm playing with my old blades and it's kinda fun...

Many would tell you that only one set of irons is enough to last you a lifetime, and for some strange reason I used to think I would be one of them. Kinda funny that I am on my 3rd set of irons in the 7 years I have played, and I don't even feel like I am even worthy of ho status. 7 years ago I would have viewed 3 sets in that time as just insane.

... and I have honestly talked myself into believing that I will play these MP-60's till they no longer have grooves or until the USGA tells me I have to stop playing them somewhere down the line. Just as I felt about my Pings three years ago, until I found out that "the offset was killing me".

I almost have to wonder if my whole concept on buying the MP60's was not supported by the fact that I knew that somewhere down the line I would be justified in buying new clubs because the USGA would tell me I had too.

Even funnier is to think that I honestly believe I would have them in the 10 years or so it would take the USGA to tell me such, and that they would no longer be legal in tournament play. Like I play in all these tournaments already.

Lesson learned here? If you keep up on the direction of the USGA, and plan it just right, they can make for a great excuse to HO clubs somewhere down the line.

I know the MP-60's are the ultimate irons for me, I have hit them a few times and love them every time I do, I just do not want to spend more than say $200-$250 on a good condition set. The Hogan's in my bag right now I got for a steal, a couple of dings here an there but the faces are in excellent condition.

Lets see, my current stock includes: (actual in the house stock, 2 sets have been sold in the last 10 years or the list would have been longer.)

Acura MXD's 2-SW
Golfsmith Backflow 1-LW
Golfsmith Tour Cavity Pro's 3-PW (heads only, Rifles to the Hogans)
Snake Eyes Viper Tour 4-GW
Wilson Staff Tour Blades 3-PW
Wilson Staff FG-17's Tour Blades 2-PW
Golfsmith Jetstream 4-PW
Hogan Apex Plus 3-PW

So, I have 8 lifetimes worth of irons? My big problem is that I am actively looking for my 9th.

You've now got more than enough to put one club from each set in your bag and look like you're taking the search for club perfection to the absolute extreme!
