Swingers shafts/Hitters shafts

I'm not sure which I am. I've got to work on my swing. However...

List the shafts YOU feel are "swingers" (smooth stroke) shafts..

GD YS-6+
Fujikura Tour Platform 26.3

and which are "hitters" (aggressive stroke) shafts..

Accuflex Evo (?)
Grafalloy Blue (?)

Oh yeah, and some that might work for both?

I'd like to hear what the overall "consensus" is on some common shafts.

Thanks.

I assume you mean pretty much aftermarket shafts WBL??? (In my opinion and could very well be wrong)
Swingers shafts:
Fujikura Speeder
GD YS
Graffaloy Prolaunch
Penley Stealth

Hitters:
Accuflex Creation and Evolution
UST ProForce
UST Accra
Aldila VS Proto 'By You'
Graman UL
Harrison
Grafalloy Epic and Axis

Both:
BB solution
Grafalloy Blue

Unsure:
Fuji Tour platform 26.3
BiMatrix

Crap shafts: (again, my opinion only)
Aldila NV
Fujikura Speeder

Thats about all the shafts I can think of at the moment. Hope I've helped...

I personally dont believe that there is such a thing as a hitters shaft and a swingers shaft. The reason this "myth" even exists is because of a severe lack of available info about shafts, their design, and how a golf shaft really works in relation to stiffness throughout its entire length.

What many call "hitters" shafts are simply shafts that feel stiff as hell, usually the result of a very stiff butt section. While a swingers shaft is usually soft in the butt generating a lot of feel.

Shaft fitting is about a number of factors, swing speed, release point, tempo, and so on. Many people will call a fast tempo player a hitter and a slow tempo player a swinger, when in reality these are just 2 small factors in choosing a shaft. What about a fast tempo player with an early release and a swing speed of only 88 mph? is he a swinger or a hitter? How about a guy with a slow tempo, a very late release, and a swing speed of 115? Swinger or hitter?
There are just far too many variables to label a player a swinger or a hitter, and far to many shaft variables to put them in the same 2 catagories.

Here are some shafts that are commonly referred to as hitters shafts

Speeder 757 (yet Ernie wont seem to part with his)
Accuflex evo (woody that hitter)
Grafalloy blue
Pro force V2 (mike wier that animal)

shafts many say are for swingers

YS series
Diamana red and blue (tiger, phil, cough hack cough)
Accra SC series

Heres a list that fall somewhere in the middle

Aldila NV and VS proto
Graman ul 780
Accuflex Creation

Again, this is just what is thrown around every time this topic comes up. All in all it means absolutely nothing. Fitting, and testing both outdoors and with a monitor is the only way to determine what shafts will work for a persons swing. What a swing looks likes and what it is actually doing can be miles apart. Shafts either fit or they dont, and they have no idea wether you are a swinger or a hitter LOL.

Can't comment on Hitter vs Swinger, but from my experience I can comment on what shafts are suited to my swing (medium tempo, approx 105 to 110 on good swings, lots of lag and pretty hard through impact). I'm assuming we are talking driver shafts here.

Good: (tip stiff, solid through impact, medium ball flight, can load up and still goes straight)
Grafalloy: Blue, Prolite 35
UST: Proforce 75, V275

Not so good: (soft tip, too whippy, ballooning flight, big hooks if jumped on)
GD: YS6/+
Aldila: NV65
Most stock shafts

I would say the Adilia series and the GD series are the swingers.

For hitters I like the Graf Blue, Graf Comp, Graf Epic, and Stulz shaft.

Those of course are just my opinions.
