I Got an Interesting Request
One of my members came to me with a very strange request. He wanted me to put the same grind on every one of his irons that I put on his wedge. After saying no three times, I finally gave in and told him I would do it.
He has an old set of MacGregor VIP Tourney combo irons. He wanted the leading edge to sit flat on the ground, with no camber from the heel to the toe of the iron. He also wanted me to remove the bounce from all of the clubs. On the longer clubs that are cavity backs, he wanted me to cut down the part that sticks out the furthest on the bottom of the cavity. Just when I thought I got them just the way that he wanted them, he goes and asks me to thin out the top line a bit.
I've done a lot of work on clubs, but nothing this in depth. So far he loves them, and I am going to finish the top lines on the blade irons later.Going to have to take pictures when they are all finished.
