Dynamic Gold are the best I have ever used.

Expensive: TT Black Gold, but have never tried Tour Concepts, or Nippon 1150's.

Cheaper: TT S300's. Just love 'em, and you can get a set of pulls for 30 bucks.

I'm a fan of the Dynalite Golds and Dynalite Gold SLs - I like hitting the ball high and landing it softly
I also like the feel of some Rifle Flighted 5.5s that I've tried
ProSoft inserts make them all feel pretty nice

Another fan of the Dynalite Golds here. I like the softer tip and I don't have a problem hitting the ball too high anyway. I still play Dynamic Golds in my wedges though.

For a budget graphite shaft, I really like Golfsmith's Carbon Stick shafts. They're made by UST and a quality shaft for around $10.

Nippon NS950 Pro

Ive got these in my irons and they are the best Ive ever used. I love the weight and the feel. I had a set with DG Tri Gold a while back and they were pretty good too.

Although this is likely the best shaft I have likely played in general, for any club per the set up on my baffler hybrid, they were a little too light for my liking when I tried them on irons.

I was so hooked on the feel of that shaft on my baffler that I darn near tossed logic aside and got them anyways because the club I found to try them out with was not the MP60. Kinda glad I didn't because the Royal Precision Rifle Flighted 5.5 FCM shafts are a very close second of the the best I have used on any club, and definitely the best I have tried on an iron. Interestingly, the Flighted model was kind of a gamble as well, as I was only able to find standard rifles to demo on any clubs. But when doing so, I really felt the weight was a big key, which were fairly consistent between those and the flighted. Not that I am a big expert on shafts, mainly how they feel and perform for me.

Although it seems for my personal feel, that the shorter the club the more weight I like in the shaft

I like a lighter shaft in my irons because I like to "swing the clubhead". With a heavier shaft it seems that I'm "swinging the shaft", if that makes any sense.

I really like the Dynalite Gold shafts in my current set 6-PW (for all the reasons Rick and MGP mentioned) but I had a set of Srixons with the Nippons in them, and the shafts were great. Probably should have pulled them before I sold them to Scotty, but oh well. He got a nice set of irons. I just liked my Tommy Armours better than the Srixons.
