Thread: Building your own set of clubs?

  1. Building your own set of clubs?

Well this year i want to get really into golf. I want to start my handicap and going to practice a lot more. But at this time I pretty much have a stock set of Rams and a old school big bertha. What do u think the first piece of eq I should get? I was thinking driver(callaway ft-5 stiff 9* draw bias). Then i was going to get a 60* vokey spin milked wedge. Then just get a decent set of irons. Thing is I don't have a ton of money but I really want that driver.

What would you start off with. Also any ideas on decent irons around 250 or so, or a driver around 250?

I have a great set of Hogan's on ebay right now. A little dinged up but in great shape for an older forged set of sticks. I am including the Hybrid in the sale.

Ben Hogan Apex Edge Pro 3-E w/ Bonus CFT Ti Hybrid - eBay (item 110221349206 end time Feb-10-08 17:37:53 PST)

Sponsors are good, but a shameless self plug is never bad either !
Blew up the bag, not sure what's going in next...
    Any suggestions?

My whole set came off line, and everyone on here that I've met is a straight up sort. You will end up with a 3 times better set if you follow their advice and the deals they turn you on to than if you walk into a Nevada Bob's or heaven forbid, a Edwin Watts.

    Yeah what he said!!!

Seriously though I was in the same boat a few years ago when I wasnt real sure how ebay and paypal worked. If you're not comfortable with ebay than sites like Global Golf, Rockbottomgolf.com and a few others are the way to go. Global will definitely have something for you in that price range...

and if not there is always my ebay listing...

well lets see here... i have a tommy armour hybrid 3 iron thats in fantastic shape that i am putting a new steel stiff shaft in. i will sell it to you for 20 plus 15 dollars shipping its a really underrated club. worst case scenario you can send it back my way and i will give you your money back. im probably going to get some new wedges and i would definitely be into selling my 52 56 60 degree titleist wedges all in great shape cept for the 56 thats the club right there lol. but each wedge could sell for like 25 bucks a piece but i could have the 60 bent to 58 so all you would need was my 52 and 58 i dunno im just throwing out options for you... if you want i can get you pictures of the clubs that im willing to sell and the price that i would sell them for.

  10. I like all the items guys . But I have to sit down and see what I really want and what I can afford. I'm 20 and only work part time and I should be going back to school in the fall. So give me a day or 2 and all throw some options out there and see what you guys have first.
