Has anybody sent their Cameron putter to the shop to have it customized? I was thinking of adding some initials and having it bent flat. I am sure service is top notch but wanted any thoughts any of you may have and if any of you know how the sight lines and dots work. Thanks!

I had mine done a while ago and the results were impressive. I had a Studio Design finished in Pro Platinum and had my initials added plus a different coloured paintfill. I kept the original sight dot as it was.

I also had it cut down to 33" but left the rest as standard.

You get an email confirming receipt and can monitor progress on the site and then they email you when it is despatched.

The service was good and delivery rapid - Mine was sent back to the UK on a Sauturday and I got it on the Wednesday and it had to be re-directed as a friend of mine paid for it as I don't have a credit card.

Holed a few nice putts with it today - it feels sweet and is a pleasure to use.

If you have the budget (I used some poker winnings to pay for mine) then go ahead, they do a great job.

Kudos to the Scotty Custom Shop from me too. I sent in my Studio Style last year to have it cut down to 33.5", added sight lines, and a initials. Club was out of my hands for less than two weeks which is pretty good considering I sent it during their holiday shutdown period.

back from the custom shop

I've seen several before/afters in the flesh, and they do superb work. Shame the putters are rubbish to start with

Yes, apart from the minor anamoly that Dave highlights, it's all good stuff.

Some more pics here

Where on the order form did you find the Pro Platinum finish? Was it a special instruction that you just asked for?

It was just a standard option. In the main menu, no special instructions or anything, just tick the box.

That's how it was when I did it anyway

Scotty's custom shop does really nice work, but they ain't cheap. Bacic stuff (grip, HC) will be about $175 (TeI3's cost more) after shipping & tax. I don't recommend initials because that'll make it tough to trade if you want to change things up & let's face it we're all ho's.

I've had several done but to give you some idea here's a before & after of one I posted here a while back.

One thing I don't ho though is my putter. I had a Ping for about 4 yrs until I was able to find this Scotty that I have now. I couldn't be more confident in this putter, its not leaving the bag. I plan on basically adjusting the lie and maybe the length, it doesnt really need refinishing or restoration.

From seeing some of the pictures you all have posted it almost seems its a good idea to try and find a Cameron that is banged up and just have it sent to the shop.

It sounds like you would get more of what you really want in style this way.

Now for the tough question where do you find a "banged" up Cameron?

I guess what Im really asking is would going that route be more cost effective.

Wow, Im officially an addict.

JArmour- That pic is beautiful lol.

I am also pondering the thought of sending my putter in two get it regripped, a new headcover, and a stamp on the toe. From everything I have seen they do a great job and give you exactly what you are paying for. Hmmmm

scotty cameron circa 62 #5 - eBay (item 250218874443 end time Feb-29-08 15:19:01 PST)

Does this beat up Cameron look legit? If so don't any bid on it I'm calling fives. If I can get this for cheap I can send it to the shop to get refinished. Well hopefully, if not Im out a few bucks.

It's probably legit, but you can buy a Circa #5 in nice shape for less than a resto would cost.

I can offer an even batter service. Send me a brand new Scotty and I will return it smashed to bollocks. Same service they offer, just the other way round. I get to enjoy smashing a Scotty, and you get a club you can enjoy sending off for refurb afterwards.

What a great deal. I won't even charge for this service.
