Top_Flite's Offcial Scotty Cameron Love thread

I got this idea from Ez's FTi love tread.

I can't wait to bring mine home and start working with the thing. I put $30 down and only $101 left to go. Mine is a Studio Newport 1.5, needs a little cleaning and it should be a gamer.

I don't know about you, but I'd have so much pressure on my shoulders hoping that a putter that I'm making payments on is my "gamer".

Hopefully the putter works for you.

Well anything has to be better than what I got now. Plus if what I have read is right I can always get my money back out of it.

I personally feel you would have been better off using the $$ to buy a set of irons. Nothing magical about a Scotty that's going to transform your game.

A lot of people use old, worthless putters that "work" for them. I'm using an old Ping Anser 2 that I found in my grandpa's shed, I tried it out for a round, no three putts, so I've used it since.

But I've been looking at Scotty's for a while, they are seriously nice putters. Good luck.

This would be one of the reasons I bought it. I understand your P.O.V also.
Well this thread didn't work like I thought it would have. I made this thread to for people to talk about them. And love them not to tell me how it was a mistake

I understand. No problem. I respect your opinion as I do of anyone. I'll try it out and see what I think. I know I liked it better than others in its price range.

My point is you are young & with no job...at least you have never mentioned one...so you rely on your parents for any sort of income. You would be better served by taking the $$ utilize it to improve your game, not simply buy a Scotty because someone here thinks they are the best.

And that may be the marketing placebo in effect. You read from several others how good somethingis & basically your mind is made up before you have ever even swung the club. When I went looking for a putter I could have bought anything I wanted, I tried the Ping Anser, Scotty, etc etc. Ultimately I choose the TM because I like the way it felt in my hands.

Well Ez is getting me some irons so I thought I could use the money my parents gave me to get a putter. And for placebo effect maybe but I didn't like others I tried and this one holed putts there so I got it. Like I said before if I get it on the course and find out it is a P.O.S I'll sell it to someone or take it back, but if I like it I got myself a gamer that will last a long time.

Kinda had your parade rained on here didn't you? I know how you feel being pumped up about a purchase. If you will also notice there are more than one or two Scotty haters on this forum, reasons unknown.

The truth about a putter is that everybody has different points of view. Putting is as much about confidence as it is about equipment. If a Scotty gives you more confidence when your standing over a ball...then its well worth the money. Mine...trust me when I say that putting is my strong suit and my Scotty made me better. Before my Scotty I used a $3 club from a bargain barrel and then a Ping Anser 2. Its all about confidence.

True true I knew there were a few haters. But I think your onto something. I think anything that will help my confidence is worth the money. Before I had a free club from my neighbor then a 20 dollar walmart mallet. The free one worked better but only because it was a blade style putter.

I have a Scotty Cameron Studio Design 2.5 that I bought in December and I love it; great feel and consistent speed. I have a Never Compromise GM2 and a Yes Carolyn that I was switching between but I haven't touched them since I got the Scotty.
