Iron cranking and a new shaft!

Last night I taped up the sole of my irons and swung my clubs off a mat, 6 swings each (I was shattered!) Most of the wear marks were imo centred but I wanted to get them checked anyway.

So today my club dude checked my irons or loft and lie and made a few adjustments to only TWO irons according to the wear marks. Otherwise according to the wear they seemed spot on.

My irons are Miura CB-201s and I have had them for about 2.5 years. Oh, btw I am 6'1" so some of the longer irons appear a bit flat, but actually the wear markets were fine so he suggested just keeping them as they are.

Anyway he checked every iron and here's what we found (and what they should be according to Miura site)

4i 24 / 57.5 (24/59.5)
5i 26 / 58 (27/60)
6i 30 / 58 (30/60.5)
7i 32 / 61 (34/61) - he cranked it to 34
8i 37.25 / 59 (38/61.5) - he cranked it to 61
9i 41 / 62 (42/62)
PW 46 / 63 (47/62.5)

The big shock was the 7 iron at 32, only 2 degrees off a 6 iron. He also said that overall the irons were strong lofts. He reckoned that a 46 degree PW is more like a 9 iron.

Oh, I also got hold of my new BiMatrix shaft for the TEE 3 wood. Looking forward to hitting that tonight at the range! And guess what, as it was a pull he didn't charge me for the shaft. Just for a new grip and the work. SWEET!!

I'm running out of excuses!
