Light Bag Quest

I'm in search of a reasonably priced (not spending more than $125 AT MAX), light golf bag. In the summer I'll be walking 36 holes frequently and in the heat I'll be looking for a really light bag.

Currently I have the Ping Craz-E-Lite Stand Bag, and the strap is annoying the hell out of me. I have always been a fan of the traditional backpack strap method, but the Ping straps are just weird and uncomfortable in my opinion.

Anybody ever try to remove straps from a bag and 'install' another strap?

Any suggestions for a bag that holds up pretty well but doesn't weight 10 pounds?

I have a Burton Triad Stand Bag and it was very comfortable.

Either that or Ogio, I would recommend.

I have a really snazzy Ogio Vector red and black stand bag with a matching Ogio towel (I'm an accessorizer) I'm looking to sell going into this season. I don't know the statis weight of it, but the backpack straps were pretty handy and didn't pose any problem for me last year. I can snap some pictures if you like. You'd come in under budget

I have always been a fan of the Ping Hoofer bags. Mine is going on 8 years and still feels the best. The straps are kinda annoying but they are VERY comfortable when you get them positioned correctly. I prefer them to the majority of straps out there (when I can get them lined up on my shoulders correctly).

All OEMs have ultralight bags, they are all the same really.

I have a Mizzy one, but it might as well say TM on the side really. Find a color you like and buy it.

The Mizuno bag I got last year, their lightest, is only 2.5 lbs. I got it new for $80 from Golfsmith. It really is a great bag.

The OGIO Vaporlites are nice in the ultralight category. I may have gotten one of those last year except they cost a LOT more than the Mizuno.

I've got a Vaporlite I'm very happy with...3.8 pounds and all the room I need for 18 holes.

Light bag

I carry a Titleist 70 'Sunday Bag' most every time I walk. Enough room for 14 clubs (if needed), as well as the basics, balls, tees, jacket. Very very light in weight, traditional shoulder strap, durable, easy to carry. No stand to break, just set it on the ground or against a bench, just like golfers did with their bags for the last 100 years before stand bags arrived on the scene.

You can get one on EBAY FOR < $50.
