Length of GW,SW,LW?

If my iron set is +.5" should I have the half inch added to the wedges?

Yes. That's standard practice.

I play all my wedges the same length as my pitching wedge. Personal preference, of course.

While Ping staggers their irons between .5" and .25" depending on the clubs, their wedges are a little different. My GW and SW are 35.25 and the LW is 35". My Mizuno PW is 35.5 as well as most of the Ping PW's. So at least for Ping, it seems like when they get to their wedges they don't like to stagger them as much.

edit 1 - from looking at Mizuno's as well as Clevelands site, it looks like they have the same practice as Ping, so while in another thread it appeared Rock may be a little odd with his choice for what some people thought, he is obviously close to the normal standards of how they do wedges.

Same as Rock said. All my wedges are the same length (48,54,60). My irons are also
+1/2", so I lengthend all my wedges to the +1/2" pw length.

Just a preference, one less variable I find and it helps create a more even distance gap for me between each wedge.

Bingo.

It's personal preference, and can always be adjusted because you're using the length of your longest wedge.

Yeah, I can tell a huge differnce in length from my off the rack TM's and my customs. It's not to the point of feeling really awkard, but I can definitely feel it.

I'd be more comfortable with the +.5" Thanks again as always Rock, oh yeah and you other guys.

Hahaha, I can't say thanks to you because your baseball team kicked our butts my freshmen year. The baseball field at your school is outstanding by the way.

I have my wedges, PW, GW, SW, and LW all the same length and lie as my 9-iron.

The 9, PW and GW are all the same MOI with the SW and LW being a little bit more due to the heavier heads at the same length.

Wishon talks about this in his "Common Sense Clubmaking" book. It makes sense to me as I view my 9 iron, really, as my first scoring club.

No

Play your wedges at the length you have most control, its irrelevant what length the other clubs are. Experiment and find out, there is no correlation at all with the other irons because few shots are played with a full swing. Its entirely personal.

Agreed. While it is personal taste, I won't argue that, the more "common sense" that's used leaves less variables.

Making the game easier is the goal, right?

Good post, Aug.

I went to a small d3 school for my freshman year, Salisbury University. It's near Ocean City, MD. Then I transfered to a bigger school.

We took a spring road trip and one of the stops was to NCW. A kid from my high school I believe is still on the "Wall of Fame" there. Wayne Franklin. Anywho we played and got beat pretty badly, but the campus and your baseball field were very nice. The buildings were a little out dated in 1999 but it was nice.
