Hybrid gaps

What kind of gaps do you like to play in your hybrid if you like to play 2 or more. I'm thinking of replacing my 3 iron with a bridgestone J33 21*. I play a 18* j33 and its one of the only hybrids I like. Do you think a 3* gap is too small for hybrids, should I look for a 22* or a 23*. Bridgestone only makes a 15*,18* and 21* hybrid in the J33.

how large is the distance gap between your 18* and your 4 iron right now?

if you buy a 21* you might wind up with one that is actually 22* and could find that your 18* is really a 17* and it all works perfectly
or your 18* could be a 19* and if you order a 21* you might get a 20*

This raises another question for me: Can hybrids (also fairway and drivers for that matter) be bent for loft and/or lie?

I remember reading of some pro's WITB articles mentioning they had a fairway bent for loft, but I don't know if there is a special expertise (tour van) needed to to do this. I play 3* flat on my irons so this would make me consider getting a hybrid again (first attempt at using them all went left).

some hybrids can be bent for loft and lie - but there's generally a higher chance of breaking them than irons and I don't think the finish always holds up well

I think the 3 degree gap is perfect.
