Callaway S2H2 Irons

I am presently playing the Japan model with the JL graphite shaft (R). Am quite happy with it.Anyone still plays the S2H2 irons with the original Memphis 10 steel shaft? I thought of switching to steel for better control. Are the Memphis 10 shafts stiffer in flex? Appreciate feedback.

The Memphis shafts are much heavier (obviously), but they are pretty soft to flex. Stiff is more like R+.

If you're changing over, you'll need .370 steel shafts. Just an FYI.

S2H2 irons

Thanks for the info. I am Asian. I guess R flex (US specs) can be a bit stiff for me. Weight is anothjer problem. Thought of reshafting with NS Pro 950 steel shaft.

If you're used to playing graphite, I would suggest a lighter steel shaft. I can't remember off hand what the 950 weighs, but unless they're around 100g, you're going to notice a huge difference.

However, steel does offer better stability and control, so it might not be a bad idea.

Try just doing your 7 iron and see how it goes. If you like it, do them all. If not, throw the graphite back in.

i have the ns pro 850s on my irons and they are about 85gms per shaft...the 750s are about 75gms so i would expect the 950s to be about 95gms per shaft......

S2H2 irons

I think the 950 suits me fine. I have another set of Daiwa irons with 950 shafts and I like it.
Thanks for your input.

The NS Pro950GH shafts weigh 94g in A-flex, up to 104g in X-flex. I have the S-flex, which weigh 98g.

The older NS Pro950 shafts were about 5g heavier across the board.
