Cleveland 588 RTG

Golfsmith has these on blowout and I am tempted. I was going to pick up the CG12 RTG but this is a steal. Has anybody played this wedge, or still play it? Is there any real advantage to going with the CG12 over this one? Thanks, I posted a link below to the wedge...

First off, I wouldn't pick these up because of a "blowout" price. That seems to be the standard price on these wedges lately. Seems like everyone is marking them down to the 60-70 dollar range.

I personally love the feel of my 900 series Cleveland wedges. Granted, I have a love for heavy clubs and these have some weight to them. I was talking with a guy at the store who saw me looking at these a few weeks ago and he couldn't say enough good things about them. I would go a swing them along with a few other at a local store. Then decide.

With the 588 RTG has anyone played the DSG RTG? I like the look of these a lot.

Yeah, me too. I have been very close the last week or so to just pulling the trigger on one. I just cant seem to find anybody that has played these.

I played the 588 RTG for 4 years up until last year. I actually still have a 60 degree 588 RTG, and a 51 588 chrome. I replaced the 56 with an X-Tour, that I am looking at replacing again lol.

I played the 588's for a while. The 60, 56 and 53 degree wedges. I thought they were awesome. That is until I got ahold of the KZG wedges I play now. The KZG's are in a different class. They are beautiful forged clubs and they have such a geat feel. You can back them up or you can make them check up, depending on the shot you want to hit.

My vote ges for KZG. They are more expensive than the Cleveland wedges, but well worth it. Don't get me wrong, the Cleveland wedges were a great start for me getting a wedge set.

Go to KZGOLF.COM to check it out.

I have a 51* in the bag that I've had for several years and I have no intention of replacing it. Can't say there's anything special about it other than how comfortable I've gotten with it over time.
