Help me pick between 2 grips.

I'm going to take advantage of the 25% off grips at golfsmith and load up on some grips.

My criteria are the harder the grip the better, it don't like soft grips that tend to torque in my hands at impact. I have small hands and grip the club very firmly

I've narrowed the selection down to 2 versions of the Crossline. One corded and one not corded. Lamkins website selector tool says the cord version is softer than the standard version, but having held both I find that hard to believe.

The only real knock I have on Crosslines is like most rubber grips (tour velvets etc) they get real slick, real fast in wet weather.

Please weigh in... and please do not recommend the multi-compounds, DD2, decades or anything else. I'd just like some real live feedback on these 2 grips in particular.

Thanks!

i'm having a hard time believing the cord is softer than the regular version too - i know the TV full cords are very firm
I'm curious to try the Lamkin Michelin grips - I didn't see anything about how firm they are though.
I'd probably go with the regular version - then put the money saved into a new set of fresh grips down the line

I like the feel of the Lamkin cords vs. GP. If your worried about wet performance, spend the cash and go with the cords.

Just so you are aware, the coupon I linked is 25% on select brands. Although what you are looking at may only be 15-20% as was the case with the ones I bought. Still a pretty good deal at over a $ off per grip on mine.

That being the case, I will likely never switch from the Golf Pride Tour Wrap full cords. Firm as can be, rough on the hands, but no finer grip in heat, humidity, and rain. That and they last twice as long as the last grip I used, which was a lamkin (not full cord). Ever since I have used these grips as well as use wet weather gloves, I have never once had a problem with "getting a grip", where with my old grips and a regular glove, I was ready to give up golf between June and August. Although I use a midsized so my options are more limited. If I did Not I would likely give more consideration to the Sharpros for the cost. Although they do not have the wraps in a Full cord Midsized.

Lamkin Tour black full cord, I remember like $5.99 a piece retail.
Best grip I had tried. The tour black full cord feels a bit smoother than the traditional Lamkin full cord.
The cord will keep most of the tracktion in the wet condition than the non cord grip.
I have not tried the Lamkin Michelin grip so I could not compare to this one.

Thanks guys.

I decided to go with the full cord version of the crosslines. Been debating this for a while, if I don't like em, I can always pick up the std crossline very cheap.

Lyle recommends Sharpro grips. I would go with the cords. I HATE the regular Lamkin crossline grips. the only one I ever liked was the grip in my old Odyssey two-ball (The grip was identical to the crossline IT wa sprobbaly made by Lamkin for Callaway)

If you get the crosslines get the Black, not the ones with the white paint in all the grooves. The paint is what gets these slick fast. The corded grips you got are good, the GP tour velvet full cord are good too.

Totally agree with Lyle here, get the black and avoid the paint filled ones for the reasons mentioned. The grip will stay tacky longer.

I have a Lamkin crossline dual density on my 4w, so far I like it.

Lyle, Tim - good advice. Should I have gotten the tour black cord I wonder?

Black Cord even better, but if you went paint fill with the cord you should not have to worry too much about the grips going slick. The cord should eliminate that problem.

I think your gonna like the grip and the life of the cord. One word of advice, buy a roll of this if you do not already have, and keep it in your bag:
Amazon.com: Johnson & Johnson Waterproof Tape, 1/2-Inch 1 roll: Health & Personal Care

The grips are a little rougher and a little piece of the tape goes a long way as you may get calluses if you do not already.

BTW, don't buy the cheap knockoff brands when hoing tape, Johnson and Johnson waterproof is the only way to go for golf.

The Lamkin cords are gloves eaters. I had a full set on mine a couple years back and cut them off because I was going through a glove every 4 rounds.

The black Crossline is a great grip. Basically a Tour Velvet in a different outfit.
