WTF is wrong with me?

I couldn't help myself & after reading Lyles response's regarding lofts, swing speeds, etc then going thru the numbers it definitely looks like I might be better served by a higher lofted driver....

So I just snagged a Ping G2 11.5º for $85, has a senior shaft but that will be yanked before I ever swing it & most likely throw in a R flex V2, or perhaps go the WBL route & try the BB?

You have just said your distance is bang on what it should be according to a monitor, so why will a new driver help? Fitness, practice, swing, gym?

According to the Sonic boom deal, if I change nothing except increase the launch angle I can gain an easy 5+ yards. With my 9.5º driver I am launching it in the 11.5º area. IF I can gain a full 2 points that's an increase in length which not being all that super far to begin with...usually in the 220 range...I can really use. Worse case is it doesn't do a damn thing for me & I throw that senior flex shaft back in, cut it down a bit & stick it in my wifes bag to match the G2 fairways I am getting from Lyle.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever had your current driver's loft checked?

I've yet to own a driver that is actually the loft stamped on the bottom. My last three drivers (including the Rapture) were an average of 1.2* more than what they were stamped...

Dont be shy to try and hit it a few times with that soft shaft before you yank it. You just might be surprised at the results.

It's worth a shot. I know it got me looking at my drivers after putting my #'s in it. I got up to just over 14* launch angle with the FTi 9.5* but the spin was too high. Now I'm going to an 8.5* with the Creation, which is supposed to have a higher initial launch but less spin. Hoping to get that 14* launch and stay right around 3000 RPM's with a 160 ballspeed.

Good hoing on the G2 BTW.

5 yards? Seems like alot of hassle over something that can be negated or increased by fairway conditions alone.

Based off of your avatar? Nothin.

Club hoing? Well...it [i]is/[i] getting warm again, so I doubt I'll be much different. No place to judge here.

Hopefully it will be or could more than that, I plugged in higher ball speed numbers & if I can get my swing speed up another 5mph then I would be happy with the results combined with this drivers potential. Mid 240's I would be pleased with, as I can usually hit em straight.

More swing speed, try a longer shaft, which you probably won't be able to control, or a softer shaft as Lyle says. Or start excersing.

Got the G2 today & it looks good. Not sure about this shaft though, but I will do as Lyle suggested & actually at least take it to the range & see what happens.
