Shaft trimming?

Ok, I'm about to try my hand at building a couple of clubs. I figured I'd start with the 7 iron I bought a while ago and decided I didn't want to use any way. Then I'll move on to the KE4 3 wood and KE4 hybrids that I do intend to use. The Maltby CT250 7 wood has a Aldilia VX stiff going in it.My question is, the trimming chart has all these trim codes, W1 through W32. How do you know which one to use?

The KE4 3 wood is getting a BB Solutions 130 Stiff so I certainly don't want to mess it up. The Hybrid I'm building this go around is for my son and it's getting the Maltby KE4 80F stiff shaft.

But I am completely confused by this chart and which trimming instructions to use. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you scroll down to the specs on the shaft, you'll see there is a column for the shaft trim code.

Here are the specs for the KE4 80F Hybrid shaft. The shaft trim specs are IR3 from the Maltby shaft trimming guide.

Well, if I go by the recommendations on the GolfWorks site my 7 wood will be longer than my 3 wood? That can't be right can it?

That's just the tip trim length. You cut that from the tip, then butt trim to playing length.
