That's what they get for making clubs that only 10% of golfers can hit.

Poor spending and poor financial decision making.

Hard to make it these days without a driver spearheading your PR campaign.

Its hard enough to make it as a niche company in golf, especially with bad marketing.

I thought they were one of the few company's who's products were different compared to their competitors. They really should have done so much better.

I thought that the wedge line was spreading it a little thin. Then the new FWY's came out and were just not a big hit. Great stuff but just not enough sales. It's a tough business, Nickent is a rising company and personally I think thier stuff flat out sucks compared to Sonartec, just shows what marketing can do.

What will happen with their patented tech on their fw woods? Do they still own it even though the company shuts down? Can they sell it?

Ez- I think the thing that Nickent has done a bit better is put the money out onto the Nationwide, I think that was a A+ move to make, that and the fact that they do make the whole bag, not just fw woods and wedges.

I agree. Sonartec should have done something similar. I have to laugh when I see "king of hybrids" next to the Nickent name, the Sonartecs absolutely buried them performance wise.

Royal Collection from Japan owns the patern I believe, they are the parent company of Sonartec ( a subsidiary of R.C.).
A bad move to go from high quality niche market to mediocre mass production quality, they lost the original follower and could not keep up with the rest of the OEM in the shark pool.
I Have a 13* fairway wood by Royal Collection, maybe it's worth something now.

This is sad. I have a sonartec hybrid I use once in a while. I liked them.

I'm bummed to see them go out of business. I have two of the MD hybrids and I love them; they were the square hybrids long before square hybrids were "cool."

That's really sad news, I'm surprised that no-one bought them up. I'm sure someone will buy up the IP and integrate it into future designs. I wonder what will happen to Royal Collection.

Time to invest in a few wedges then methinks!!

im going to get a new three wood. and its going to be a sonartec. the clubs are class for sure. they do have irons tho... just nothing too popular. or rather they have tried to enter into the iron category. and so you know ez. i have the nickent 3dx pros with rifle 7.0s and they are a blast to hit. everyone said id block all my shots right and when i went and played golf the other day i was working the ball better than id ever imagined i could. high low left right i was amazed. now if i could just putt....
