Putter length

Just wondering what putter length you guys use. I was just fitted for a new putter yesterday (Ping Craz-e i series). I ended up getting fitted with a 34" model (standard lie and loft, with a midsize grip). My old putter was an odyssey tri-ball srt (currently for sale on ebay) 36". I am 6'2" and was pleasantly surprised when the guy at the shop (a professional, not some clown kid in a retail store) recommended I go shorter. The putter should be here in about 2 weeks (can't wait).

have others on this forum gone to a shorter length putter?

I started a thread about this a couple of months ago. basiclly it comes down to personal preferance. I'm 6 foot and play a 35". I don't really like bending over to much, it starts to hurt my back after awhile. I'm amazed at Phil Mickelsons putter, it must be like 30" and puttting knee high.

Yeah, I read that Phil's putter is 33.5" long. I am the same height as Phil.

Lyle, I sent you a PM a couple days ago. Please respond when it's convenient

I tried a 34" and just couldn't get comforable over it. I'm 6'1". I also putt from a more upright position and have straight back and through stroke.

33" at 6'1"

I have always heard the most common mistake for most golfers is a putter that is too long.

That's what guys with short putters all say.

About 6'2" here and 35" on all my putters.

5' 9" and a 33" putter. I like to stand over the ball with my elbows out and feel the putter hanging down.

6'0" and I use a 34" putter. Just changed from 35", and I'm putting better after the switch.

5'10", 33" putter. I like to curse at the putter when I feel the ball come off the toe, or I turn it over into the stroke and pull a putt. The 33" length lets me know that the putterhead is plenty close enough to hear my verbal mockery.
