Tip Trimming an S to an X

I'm not wealthy, and I'm not particularly patient (a very depressing combination), so in my search for a V2 76g shaft in X, I've found a 45" S flex. That's much longer than I need, since I only intend to play it at about 42" in my 3W. Can I tip this thing to make it play to an X in my KE4 head I'm going to buy? Or would it be better to wait for an X to pop up?

On that note- anybody got a lead on one?

IIRC, trimming from the tip with change the overall swingweight. So you might need to add some lead tape, powder to get it back to the correct swingweight.

Swingwieght is far less important than finding the right length and weight

Tip trimming to fine tune a flex is fine. Tip trimming to change flexes entirely is not.
