Bought the Callaway LR550

Well, I bought the LR550 and I like it alot.

I've played 2 rounds with it and have a tournament on Monday, so I will use it there as well.

I love the exact yardages. It has helped my game, shotmaking and scoring a great deal.

299.00 for it.

I just bought a Bushnell Yardage Pro.

I never played with a rangefinder until recently; an older guy I play with has one.

And WOW are the yardages off on courses... even the 100/150 markers are sometimes quite mistaken.

Doesn't even feel like real golf without a rangefinder anymore. Just guessing. It was NECESSARY for me to get one after I had gotten used to using one.

I just got a Leupold GX-II after owning two Bushnells.

With the Bushnells, I would have to kind of know how far the flag was and sort of pan around the flag and hope to catch the yardage as it flashed by. The crosshairs were never exact. It was tough if the flag was hanging down. Figured out how to do it and got good at it. Not sure what the model number of the last one was, but it was the one Garcia had in the commercial and three years old.

The Leupold GX-II is unbelievable. Can't recommend it enough. Point at stick and click. Nice crosshair in the display. Really easy to use. Quick and accurate readings. So good, that I was deliberately clicking on trees in the distance, because I was having a hard time believing that I got the result I wanted without any fuss.

The bells and whistles are cool too. It will suggest a club and adjust for uphill/downhill, how hot or cold it is and what altitude you are playing at. It gives something called a True Golf Range, which is how far it would play under your normal conditions.

I am aware about the "illegality" of those adjustments, but most of the golf I play is for fun with buddies who are happy to share the info. I will keep the old Bushnell in case I play in some sort of outside tourney.

Well now I feel cheated

But honestly, I don't mind just getting a reading off of the front of the green. I can guess the extra yards from there well enough. I can't hit my iron shots to the point that being 2-3 yards off will ruin my shot. 8-10, maybe.

The Leupold sounds sick, though.
