My new ball is....

The TaylorMade TP red

Man oh man is this a great ball. Long as hell off the driver and irons, yet has a ton of spin and feel around the greens. Without a doubt the best ball I have played to date. If you havent tried these then get on it. They are also a fair bit cheaper than the other premium balls. Here the difference was $15 between these and the Pro-v's, the B330's and the HX's.

Is their red the Titlesit black? ie the higher spinning ball?

The read is their "tour flight ball", the black is higher spinning. The RED is like the Pro-v1x but better.

It is a good ball. I think it might spin more than a Prov off a wedge in my experience. I thought about switching to it but I've just got too much practice with chipping and putting feel invested in the Prov's. It's just flat out more predictable for me now... plus I have a GD milk crate with about 12 dozen of them in my kitchen.

I think it does spin more off a wedge than the pro-v but far less of the driver, which is a great combo imo. And yeah your free crate of Pro-v1's would help make up my mind as well

Thats whats "In the Bag" right now. I'm very happy with it. However I did manage to crack one a while back, (assuming that it was a one off).

I'm zeroing in on the The TaylorMade TP Red as my premium ball too, for the reasons you listed.

I still play the D2 Feel and Gamer for everyday rounds because they are cheap and perform quite well, plus I have a lot of them in my ball stash right now.

There was a note on that ball from TM Quality Control that said "Send this ball to IrishGolfer!"

I'm bagging the Blacks and love them. Long and soft and like you said cheaper than others.

Good choice Lyle! They also hold up as good as anything out there. Are the new ones better then last years? I bought a ton of the last years on sale for $29/doz.

I picked up a dozen of the Pro V1 X from an ebay retailer... I played one that I found last week and liked it... it doesn't spin as much off the driver which I like. We'll see how it compares to the Pro V1

I've tried the others mentionned here - TP Red and Black, NOB and NOP, B330 and didn't like them at all. They feel too firm off the putter for me. The only one I could maybe switch to is the HX-Tour or HX-Tour 56

I heard a lot of people really like the 08 TP red and they say it plays a lot like the 1x. I’m not going to change this year but if Titleist is forced to stop making pro V’s because of the lawsuit I will put them or the Nike one black into the bag.

I thought the 07 Tp blacks were the ball that played most like the 1x and the 07 Tp red was more like the pro V1. Did taylormade change things up this year

tp reds and the srixon zurs are the 2 longest premium balls I've hit. I think the zurs spins a little better on approach shots though. V1 is 10 yards shorter than these 2 for me at the very least.
